... PLEASE remind everyone you know (and even a few you don't) to VOTE this November. I have serious worries that because the polling numbers are so heavily in our favor, people will get complacent/apathetic about getting their votes in. Make no mistake, the libs are mounting an all-out war to keep their majorities, and they're rallying all from their side to vote (twice, if necessary). :icon12:

And be sure to embolden them that certain militant groups and their ilk can do NOTHING to stop or impede the progress of America! What are they going to do - shoot someone to keep them out of the polling place?? I don't think so!! They got away with blatant voter intimidation last time. Not this time. Bring your camcorders and let's make sure this time they're held accountable!! This is AMERICA, not some third world country where that crap is par for the course!!

Please keep the pressure on to make sure people get those ballots in!!! The numbers are there, the people are fed up and then some, but it won't take much in the way of complacent voters who get lazy, figuring we've got things sewn up, to have a negative impact.

REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER!!! :salute2:

That is all... getting off soapbox now.... carry on....

Obama is now calling for congress to pass new tax cuts that will allow businesses to write off 100% of their taxes on capital assets through 2011. One reads this, and the initial reaction is one of relief, but as the old saying goes, if something appears to be too good to be true, then more likely than not it is. The simple fact of the matter is this comes as too little too late. The economy has already been thrust into its downward spiral, and this token gesture on the part of the administration, who has continually positioned itself in opposition to the free market system, will not spare our economy from further doldrums.

The reason that this will do little to help the economy is because the government has done nothing to curb its appetite for spending. There is no money to be had for such spending. The government is now combining two disastrous actions. Tax cuts are served to work in unison with cutting spending, in this case spending is still increasing at an astronomical rate, and cutting taxes at this point will only make the deficits worse. What we need is not only tax cuts for businesses and individuals, but also a severe cut in governmental spending. The problem is this government is so wedded to the idea of governmental spending, that it cannot possibly cut spending. There is an erroneous mindset in Washington that the money is there's rather than the people's.

This sort of mindset serves no one. It only serves to make our economy that much weaker, and as our economy becomes weaker, it opens the flood gates for foreign powers to gain hegemony. The question therefore becomes, why can the government not see it? And whether their blindness to reality is willful? I would posit that the government does see it, and that they are willfully ignoring it. Like spoiled children they have gotten their way for so long, that they feel the American people are either too stupid, or too apathetic to do anything about their woeful inadequacy in leadership. Therefore we the people are left to suffer under the negligent actions of our government, and our liberties are being whittled down on a daily basis.

This serves the president just fine. He can appear as though he is reaching out to American businesses, and can then blame any failures that occur after this point on the right who pushed to have taxes lowered. It's right out of the communist play book. As a result Obama can then push for even greater government control, claiming that such control will ultimately solve the financial woes of the country. We can already see this pattern from his claiming not all that long ago, that the government bail out of the United States Auto industry was successful. However, in actuality it cannot truthfully be said that such a maneuver was successful. The reason being, that the government failed to address the major reason why the American auto industry is failing, the unions. As it stands now, the government is continuing to empower unions, with their unreasonable wage rates, and their unsustainable pension plans, which were of course the reasons why The American auto industry has become noncompetitive.

When the government props up unions, and fails to address the real problems that they have caused the economy, then not only will that industry not recover, the entire economy will continue to suffer as a result. Worse yet, Obama's actions with the oil industry by pushing the drilling moretorum and thumbing his nose at the court system, has ensured that another large segment of the economy is now under considerable threat and strain. Therefore, this token gesture accomplishes nothing of true value. It's merely Obama attempting to do some sort of damage control for his image which has been incredibly tarnished by the economic slump. Nevertheless, he will continue to look for a scape goat in the Bush administration...but how long can that ploy work? We are now well into his tenure as president, and his solutions have done nothing to solve the crises that face America. Obama will not be able to wave a magic wand, or attempt to speak his way out of the problems which face the average American. Indeed his actions will only continue to increase outrage.

Take for example the health care bill. Most Americans were opposed to this piece of legislation, and rightfully so. The legislation was filled with all sorts of none healthcare related regulations. For example my student loans, which were originally filed by private banks, were federalized through the healthcare bill. While this action was supposedly done to make my life easier, it has in fact made my life all the more difficult, in that I had to completely refile my loans, and I received then weeks after the time I would have had them. It made my life harder because I had finished the original process in February, but the loans were federalized in June. Obama will continue to claim that he has made my life easier, and the truth will continue to state otherwise.

Therefore this is another token gesture on the part of our “fearless leader”. And of course it has me asking “what's the catch?” . The catch is that it will not solve the problems that Obama thinks it will, and that he will use this, as stated before, as an avenue for increasing the power of the Federal Government all over again. Be warned America, something evil this way comes, and it's ultimate goal is to take your pocket book, kick you in the shin, and tell you that it loves you and that it is doing this for your own good.

The entire future of a company or industry can hinge on a single deal. The $50,000 IBM paid to license Windows was the foundation for Microsoft and the technology industry for the last couple of decades. The sale of 3Par could also be one of those pivotal deals, as huge firms like HP, IBM, Oracle, Microsoft, Dell, VMware, Cisco and EMC position themselves around the new "cloud" opportunity.
Over the last 18 months, the administration has rolled out just about every program it could think of to prop up the ailing housing market, using tax credits, mortgage modification programs, low interest rates, government-backed loans and other assistance intended to keep values up and delinquent borrowers out of foreclosure. The goal was to stabilize the market until a resurgent economy created new households that demanded places to live.

As the economy again sputters and potential buyers flee — July housing sales sank 26 percent from July 2009 — there is a growing sense of exhaustion with government intervention. Some economists and analysts are now urging a dose of shock therapy that would greatly shift the benefits to future homeowners: Let the housing market crash.

“We have had enough artificial support and need to let the free market do its thing,” said the housing analyst Ivy Zelman.

Michael L. Moskowitz, president of Equity Now, a direct mortgage lender that operates in New York and seven other states, also advocates letting the market fall. “Prices are still artificially high,” he said. “The government is discriminating against the renters who are able to buy at $200,000 but can’t at $250,000.”

William H. Gross, managing director at Pimco, a giant manager of bond funds, has proposed the government refinance at lower rates millions of mortgages it owns or insures. Such a bold action, Mr. Gross said in a recent speech, would “provide a crucial stimulus of $50 to $60 billion in consumption,” as well as increase housing prices.

The idea has gained little traction. Instead, there is a sense that, even with much more modest notions, government intervention is not the answer. The National Association of Realtors, the driving force behind the credit last year, is not calling for a new round of stimulus.

Some members of the National Association of Home Builders say a new credit of $25,000 would raise demand but their chances of getting this through Congress are nonexistent.

“Our members are saying that if we can’t get a very large tax credit — one that really brings people off the bench — why use our political capital at all?” said David Crowe, the chief economist for the home builders.

That might give the Obama administration permission to take the risk of doing nothing.

Of course, there's always that "just do a little more" argument, but it's nice to see that at least one person on the NYT team waking up to what's happening. To us though, it's certainly no surprise, markets have to correct if there's bad investments.

Fired Inspector General Gerald Walpin is asking that his lawsuit challenging his abrupt and apparently illegal dismissal by the Obama administration be reinstated – and he wants a new judge assigned to the case.

A Washington Times editorial published September 1 suggests that District Judge Richard W. Roberts has not presided over Walpin's case with professional impartiality.

The editorial details extensive personal and professional ties between Roberts and Obama Attorney General Eric Holder, the boss of the Department of Justice lawyers defending the administration against Walpin's suit.

According to the Times, Roberts and Holder have been close personal friends for decades. Roberts worked for Holder in the Department of Justice during the Clinton administration, and Holder helped Roberts ascend to the federal bench in 1998.

White House Special Counsel Norman L. Eisen removed Walpin from his office as inspector general for the Corporation for National and Community Services in June 2009.

The dismissal came several months after Walpin submitted two reports that proved highly embarrassing to the Obama administration.

Scientists are building the case that the image of a crucified man on the Shroud of Turin was created by radiation that emanated from the body itself, a theory remarkably supportive of the traditional resurrection account that is central to Christian theology.

A scientific paper co-authored by attorney and historian Mark Antonacci and physicist Arthur Lind argues that the image of the crucified man in Shroud of Turin might constitute what amounts to a photograph taken at the instant Jesus' body transformed as he rose from the dead.

In the paper, "Particle Radiation from the Body," Antonacci's and Lind's argument centers around the 29 unique or unusual features that scientists over the past four decades have found on the Shroud's body image and fiber.

The problem, government data show, is that too few jobs are being created for the growing number of people looking for work. Private employers added a net total of 67,000 jobs in August. But the unemployment rate rose to 9.6 percent from 9.5 percent, the Labor Department said Friday, because the number of job-seekers overwhelmed the number of openings.

How about a title correction: Despite hiring, US unemployment rate is declining. :professor:

Despite the ongoing failure of Obamanomics and the continuing decline in employment (rise in unemployment); Obama and his cohorts in sedition are calling for another Economic Stimulus (aka Porkulous II+). The call of course is to implement Porkulous II+ before Nov. 2nd elections to keep the Sheepeople's votes bought for DemWits.

Ironically, Mr. Obama was against a Troop Surge, but is all for another Spending Surge.

If you are looking for a job or how to enhance your prospects and the tool helps you, then please provide a feedback comment. Unlike Liberals who would refuse to use a Republican administration tool and immediately bad mouth it; I say give the tool a Go and let its usefulness speak for itself.
