Though I was 9 when President Reagan was inaugurated in January 1980, he would still be in office when I joined the Army eight years later. As an adolescent I found myself enamored with President Reagan as a man, and as President. He was articulate, charming and genuine. Though I knew little of politics at that time, I knew (and still do) know people pretty well. President Ronald Reagan was a good person, and a great leader. I am truly glad and honored to say that President Reagan was my first Commander-in-Chief. 16 years later I am still in the military, and am still proud to be an American. President Reagan was an example to all those who have forgotten what a privilege and an honor it is to serve this great nation. I only hope that I remain as true to myself and my nation as he did. My family and I send our deepest heart-felt condolences to Nancy and the entire Reagan family and their close friends.
Sincerely,
