I think I hear thunder
Written by: Carolyn Hileman

Off in the distance, you can hear it if you listen. It is talking about the economy, just like it has for many years now. Never mind that senator Daschle had complete control over who went to the bathroom up until the first of this year. Yet did nothing about the economy but complain. Some more of that thunder rumbling? Oh, and it gets even louder as it gets closer to election time. Why the thunder is so loud sometimes, you can't even hear your self think.

At first you think it is a stamped of election candidates who are rushing to vote on issues of major importance. You would be wrong of course, it is just the thunder as they forgot to vote on those issues. They were so busy campaigning. But if you think about it Medicaid and social security must not have really been that much of a problem or wouldn't they have fixed it when the miracle worker was in office? I guess it must have just been the thunder talking.

Oh, wait we forgot about Iraq. Wasn't the Clinton administration going to stop that madman? Didn't he get full support for that action, even from republicans? That must have just been the thunder, because lightning hit them just a few days ago. And did you hear all of the thunder leading up to it? So Nancy, how is it we could have gotten that statue down for less. Unless you would be suggesting that we carelessly dropped bombs and killed innocent Iraqi civilians. The war would have ended sooner, but at what cost? And the thunder rolls.

I guess what I am trying to get across here is this, they always have a complaint. Something could have always been done better. But when they have one of their own in office for eight years. When he had the kind of popularity he enjoyed. At what point does one start to question, why it wasn't done? Maybe because if any of this ever gets taken care of, they will not have anything to campaign about. And that would make for a very boring election now wouldn't it. So now you know why the thunder, my question is where is the lightning
