Hello,

I want to take a few minutes to introduce myself and explain exactly why I'm here. I'm a musician and I'd like you to visit my web site. This may sound like a solicitation - but I'm not making a dime. I'm trying to find a way to get my music to people without getting involved with the music industry.

I've been a musician for over 15 years. While I've always loved music, I've managed to fall completely out of love with the music industry. The quality and character of the artists they promote has hit rock bottom, and they are greedy to boot. Think about this for a moment - they peddle garbage like Gangster Rap and in same breath sue 12 year olds for file sharing. What sort of human being makes their living that way?

Artists on all fronts have been getting ripped off for decades by the Entertainment industry. Of course the people at the top of the food chain are particularly vile for doing so, however part of that problem is the desire for exposure on the part of the artists - they prostitute themselves just to get it. Therefore you have to hold them partly responsible for the situation. And really the Music Industry is about politics as much as anything - who you know, and how much you're willing to compromise. Heck it seems like they don't even look for people who compromise anymore - they just "Make Up Bands" like N'Sync and all that other Fluff.

Many web sites are popping up where artists host their music - but the truth is that most of those sites are owned and operated by the same record companies that push the garbage they do in the record stores. The biggest and most popular, MP3.com, is owned by Sony for example. I wouldn't put my stuff on there to save my life - another pack of sleazy record executives ripping off artists En Masse. And it's mind boggling to see that the people who submit their stuff to that site don't see it that way.

So what do I do? Well, I visit forums like these and post a link to my site. I know several forums have rules against solicitation and I totally respect their right to monitor their boards. If you don’t feel this post is appropriate for your boards I will understand completely. But again, I'm not making one red cent. I'm just trying to get folks to listen to my music without having to associate myself with the sleaze bags in the Music Industry. And I try to hit message boards that I have an interest in. I’m a big fan of music, online gaming, and political discussion.

It's not all gloom and doom though - I think the Internet is really changing things. Take for instance Homestar Runner. This site is a PRIME example of what artists can do to circumvent the system. They don't have to schmooze, they don't have to compromise, they don't have to sell their lives away - all they have to do is work hard at the craft that they love and they can get just as much exposure as anyone else. Another outstanding example is The Art of the Saber.. This film is an outstanding amateur movie made with a video camera and home editing software. They manage to get great quality for what amounts to chump change and little elbow grease. It’s a very exciting time to be an artist.

As far as my music goes it is Instrumental Hard Rock and Heavy Metal (safe for anyone to listen to). Feel free to ask me any questions or offer criticism. If you like my music please feel free to pass the link to my site on to your friends or post it on other web sites.

Thanks again,

Here's the link to my site -> Venomus Maximus

Man, you can play FASTTTTT!!!!!

I really liked Spitfire...it made me think of the theme music for a on-line game I play called Tribes...a 'first-person shooter'!
http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/77/s...nd_design.html

Imperial Blues should be used as background music for an army recruiting commericial! Makes ya wanna charge over a ridge and take out an nme's bunker hehehe
As you said, you took some of the drum's from other websites, get some trumpet or bugle sounds and work em into it! Make it martial!!! WTF, throw in some weapons sound effects! lol

Echo Chamber was a very nice piece of mixing!
But I kept listening for something to break it up, a nice little riff or chord change in the middle.

DeadEndBoogie: NICE dirty riff! Trim it down, add something to break it up, speed change (slow break?) or high-end chords! Still, it rocked! Many guitarists would envy you your obvious ability to play!

Going Home: Nice bluesy/country-ish sound. I wonder what it would sound like slowed down & on an acoustic guitar! Sorta reminds me of a few licks from some Lynyrd Skynyrd's slower, 'countrier' stuff.

Nice cover of Message in a Bottle!

Dude, you should be in a band somewhere!
Keep it up, and I guess we will be hearing you on the radio in about two or three years!

I really like those tracks from TRIBES. I've always been a fan of instrumental "Heavy" music - and I think one of the best areas of development for music in genral (or at least one of the most overlooked) has been the gaming industry.

I've got a whole bunch of gaming music (and ambient as well) that I listen to when I game. I'll be glad to add Tim Clarks stuff to my collection.
