Re...Shockey Shocks Again!

In response to the Daily News article on Jeremy Shockey's big mouth...


*****This is exactly what I'm talking about when it comes to these young athletes who have all the physical tools in the world to be great at their game...yet have the the IQ of a dead plant! Shockey just doesn't know when to shut-up. According to this dolt, his "friends" told him that Parcells was "dogging" him on television last year. Well, let me update his friends on something...Parcells is old-school, and all he said...and he said the same thing about Michael Vick...is that you can't put these guys in the Hall of Fame yet based on one good season and a whole lot of potential. Parcells is right. Talk to me Jeremy Shockey in 5 to 10 years from now and lets see how your career pans out. No doubt you have the potential to be great...but lets see what you do as defenses prepare to slow you down with cuts, double-teams and the occasional late hits you'll be getting now that the league has seen you. Talk to me Shockey when you have 28 to 32 year old legs and you don't get open as quickly or run over defenders as easily. Football is a brutal game...and I know you play with enthusiasm and train hard...but you're just getting started and you better hope injuries don't cut short your career.

The "Business" of football helps create these disrespectful trash-talking punks...who have little regard for the history of their sport and for those who have coached and played in it. Parcells has been around football longer than Shockey has been alive...but when a league and owner can afford to make this mental midget a millionaire...this is what happens. He's young, wealthy and talented so screw everybody. It creates this "I don't give a damn" attitude. I think Shockey should shut-up and save it for the field on Sundays. He should be thankful he makes millions "playing" for a living...and not "working" for one. My heart goes out to the Mara family because they have always been a class act. Jeremy Shockey does not represent the Mara's and the Giants with his big mouth.
