Thumbs down Mayor Winn to make Austin Texas a Green city

On October 22 2007 Mayor Will Winn of Austin visited Saint Edward's University to discuss “Global Warming” and ways in which Austin could locally move forward to be one of the most “green” cities in the nation. He continued to push the argument as though there is no longer any debate over whether Global warming is happening or not. He went on to claim that all those who question global warming are full of, and I shall refrain from using the profanity which he used through out his speech to the University.
This is the major issue that the Mayor of Austin focuses on when he isn't going out to bars on sixth street getting drunk. He has already begun a plan to have all the fire chiefs of Austin drive hybrids and he is going to make the city building codes have stricter policies in making everyone upgrade their house to be “greener”.
While he makes this his pet issue similar to Al Gore, The city of Austin suffers from roads that need repair taxes which are too high and the cost of living is absurd for a city of its size. There is also the issue of illegal immigration which needs to be addressed but Mayor Winn finds that it is more important to waste his time on Global warming and beer.
I think it is important for me to mention this to you all because Mayor Winn is not a rarity among politicians. Unfortunately there seems to be quite a few mayor Winns around. They occupy national office (Dingy Harry Reid, Nasty Pelosi) And they threaten the very fabric and sovereignty of the United States. These politicians believe that money is meant for the government and for their pet pork projects.
It is up to us, the American people, to address the issue of these politicians squandering our money for meaningless causes. If Global warming is as bad as they say, government is not the avenue to solve the problem. Private industry is the best way to approach the problem. Maybe I'm coming from way out in right field on this but, I'm sure many on these forums would agree with me that members of our government are not paying attention to us. They are not valuing the system which we inherited from our founding fathers and, that in fact, they are leading down a path to global socialism. I for one am unwilling to walk that path.
