The last time freedom came under attack in the United States was September 11, 2001, almost three thousand of our neighbors were murdered that day. The American citizens who had every right to be frightened opened their doors and hung their American flags for everyone to see. We did not cower, we did not hide, we stood our ground, we waved our flags high, we put them on cars, we hung them on barns, and we painted them on barns. Those flags could have been a big red bull’s eye but we were determined to let the world know we were Americans and we would not be silenced. Freedom is under attack again, and this time they are going after anyone who has a Gadsden flag or bumper sticker depicting it. This symbol has been a part of our heritage since the fall of 1775 and first put to sea in 1776, it is as important part of our fight for freedom and independence as the American flag we flew on 9/11 and it and the people who fly them are now subject to detainment and being placed on a watch list, it is time for the American citizens to rally once more, it is time to fly ole’ Gadsden.
It is one thing to call everyone a racist who did not vote for you, it is raucous to mark those who differ in opinion on major policy issues as extremists and terrorists. To detain, question and list them as criminals even though all they did was have in their possession a piece of American History. To say that this is wrong is a woeful understatement, it is not only wrong it is unconstitutional, it rages against our first amendment right, it makes anyone who displays this flag a potential criminal and you and I need to stand up against this tyranny and we need to do it now. I believe that anyone who believes this is wrong should display the Gadsden flag and here is a link to help you,
http://www.anyflag.com/history/gadsden.htm if we all display this flag, if every house, every car has this symbol on it then we will be letting them know just how many of us they must fight.
It is time to fight the tyranny in our midst; it is time to once more be proud to be American. We did not ask for this fight but we darn sure are not about to shirk from it, we will not willingly hand over our first amendment rights, we will not be silenced. This will be our peaceful resistance; they cannot possibly detain and question us all, if we stand together quietly displaying our flags for all to see, they will know of our determination, they will know that we the American people are silently demanding they cease and desist. We cannot allow our brothers and sisters to fight this battle alone; we must not allow them to be the only ones marked. If one is marked, we all are marked, if one flag is flown, we all fly our flags and we will know that the person who is flying that flag is unified in our fight against tyranny and will willingly stand with us if we need them. This is our time, previous generations have managed to keep our rights secure for us it is time we do for them what was done for us, and it is time to fight.
It is time to fight for all that is good in our country, for the freedoms bestowed upon us by a generation greater than us, but who spawned us and expect great things form us. If we do not fight this, then what will we hand them next? Will we wait silently to be sent to detention camps, will we line up to be marked? Will we simply hand over our rights without a whimper or will we fight? Let’s you and I fight for what is right, what is just, what is rightfully ours, for if we stand together we cannot be defeated. Fight for what’s right, not for what’s left.
