Clinton offers U.S. aid to help boost Muslim ties

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton offered aid on Tuesday to boost ties with the Muslim world and urged Israel, the Palestinians and Arab countries to move beyond recrimination in the search for peace.

"We are determined and persistent in the pursuit of that goal," she said in a speech at a development forum in Morocco attended by Arab ministers.

After a weekend of heated words about the perceived U.S. tilt toward Israel on the issue of settlements on the occupied West Bank, Clinton said it was important for all sides to "be careful about what we say" and avoid angry rhetoric.

"We need to work together in a constructive spirit toward this shared goal of a comprehensive peace. I believe very strongly that it is attainable ... (and) that with your support we can find a way through." Full Story

Clinton, representing the Obama administration, is meddling. Hard core Muslims are committed to death and destruction of the free world. I know that all Muslims are not radical, but why are we playing Mother Theresa to Palestine? America should not be in the middle trying to manipulate the situation. There is a difference between being concerned, as a world power, and even getting involved, if invited to do so - and rolling up our national sleeves and trying to control the situation.

Here, Clinton is trying to be the big shot, acting like she is a force to be reckoned with, when she should be more diplomatic, less intrusive - she could learn a lot from Condi Rice.

The Middle East is a TAR BABY!! The Obama Administration, in their confusion, lack of experience and lack of ability - are rushing to get stuck in it...

Offering aid to boost ties with Muslims? I'd bet some of the money gets back to Osama Bin Laden!

Let the Muslims clean up their house and then let's talk about how we can help them. Giving money to drug addicts so they can have a better life, just improves the quality of the drugs they buy - it doesn't change them fundamentally!

Why are we meddling in their affairs, offering them money - when our own country is in such a shambles?

So the liberal Administration can play globe trotting Idealists!

How can we trust the Palestinians enough to get 'closer', when they can't even police themselves? What can we expect if we channel funds to them? Do we think this will make them want to be like us?

Fundamental ideologies separate us, pandering to them will not bring us together.

Ahhh, yes. The old Liberal tactic of the payoff. Got to give the "One" credit for sending someone with lots of experience.

Maybe we Taxpayers should start stoning virgins and see if Uncle Sam would pay us to stop?
