Rahm to Bill to Joe

At his Thursday press conference, President Obama said that "I can assure the public that nothing improper took place" in the curious case of Joe Sestak and the Pennsylvania Senate primary—but he declined to say what, exactly, took place. After yesterday's pre-Memorial Day weekend news dump, now we know. Sort of. Maybe. In a way.

Last summer, Mr. Sestak said he'd been offered a high-ranking federal job in return for ending his ultimately successful bid to depose Arlen Specter, an act of interfering in an election that would constitute a felony if it was direct enough. The account released yesterday by White House counsel Robert Bauer says that Rahm Emanuel enlisted Bill Clinton "to determine whether Congressman Sestak would be interested in service on a Presidential or other Senior Executive Branch Advisory Board." And the post "would have been uncompensated."

The law is quite clear, it does not matter whether Rahm Emanuel used Bill Clinton as a go between to make the offer to Joe Saistek.

Through out the law you will find repeated references to " directly or indirectly".

As such, Rahm Emanuel indirectly broke the law and committed a felony.

What is left off is that Rahm Emanuel was hired by Mr. Obama to do his dirty work. Further, Rahm would not have acted without discussing the matter with his master. As such, Mr. Obama indirectly broke the law, and committed an Impeachable offense.

Skipping forward to Thompson's story & point.

“A nice stash of cookies in the cookie jar that you had there all of a sudden go missing,” Thompson told listeners.

“You start looking around and there’s Sammy standing there with crumbs on his chin. ‘Sammy, what about it?’

“‘Papa, I’m gonna need a few days on this. I’ve gotta find out who the other possible culprits could be in this thing and what my options are. But I’ll have an official statement for you in a couple of days.’”

Thompson concluded: “The point being, ladies and gentlemen, that when you’re prepared to tell the truth it doesn’t take you that long, does it?”

Exactly.
Had the Liar-n-Chief, Propagator of Lies (Gibbs), Puppet Master (Emmanuel), Billary the Impeached, and the cast of other players not had to get their cover stories straight, along with running them by White House <cough> Legal <cough> Counsels, the Sestak answer would have been immediate vs. weeks later and in the form of vague memo of B.S.

Nor would there have been the non-sense of a self-investigation. If Sestak is lying and they are all telling the truth; then why is Obama and his minions hiding behind the lame claim of a self-investigation?

Why not invite an external investigation?
Because: a) they don't want any skeletons found and b) they are too busy trying to bury the bones of the Sestak affair.

Romanoff confirms White House job discussions

U.S. Senate candidate Andrew Romanoff acknowledged tonight that he discussed three possible jobs with the deputy chief of staff of the Obama administration — all contingent upon a decision by Romanoff not to challenge U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet. Romanoff said none of the jobs was formally offered, but said the only reason they were discussed with Deputy Chief of Staff Jim Messina was if Romanoff stayed out of the Senate race.

"Mr. Messina also suggested three positions that might be available to me were I not pursuing the Senate race," Romanoff wrote in a statement. "He added that he could not guarantee my appointment to any of these positions. At no time was I promised a job, nor did I request Mr. Messina's assistance in obtaining one."

Sounds like a violation of the law by the Obamastration to me.

Even if one wants to argue there was not an absolute direct violation of the law, there was a clear attempt to circumvent the purpose (spirit) of the law. Which in its self rises to the level of Impeachment based on conduct that is below the expected and acceptable conduct of office.

And Mr. Obama is Impeachable even if he tries to use others under him or even former President Clinton as scape-goats.
Meaning of "High Crimes and Misdemeanors"

An executive official is ultimately responsible for any failures of his subordinates and for their violations of the oath he and they took, which means violations of the Constitution and the rights of persons. It is sufficient to show, on the preponderance of evidence, that the president was aware of misconduct on the part of his subordinates, or should have been, and failed to do all he could to remedy the misconduct, including termination and prosecution of the subordinates and compensation for the victims or their heirs. The president's subordinates include everyone in the executive branch, and their agents and contractors. It is not limited to those over whom he has direct supervision. He is not protected by "plausible deniability". He is legally responsible for everything that everyone in the executive branch is doing.

So Neil asked "would you vote for him again" .. and she said "No, not today, actually I think he's kind of a wimp" ...

I had to laugh ... especially in the light of his speech in Pennsylvania when none of the Democrats showed up to meet him or listen to his blathering...

Obama under fire for election tactics

The White House on Thursday dismissed charges that President Obama's top aides have breached his pledge to run the most ethical and open administration in history by trying to entice Democrats in Pennsylvania and Colorado to skip races against favored incumbents.

Oh good grief...

Press secretary Robert Gibbs countered that the White House has every right to try to avert expensive and divisive intraparty primaries between Democrats, something it did by encouraging potential candidates to consider other options, including government jobs or appointments.

Wrong, the White House does not have "every right". The White House has to stay within the law just like everybody else. In fact, the White House and a President should be setting examples of Lawful behavior, and upstanding ethics and morals.

"The president has an interest in ensuring that supporters don't run against each other in contested primaries," Gibbs said.

Sure Mr. Obama does, but his interest does not give him the authority to violate the law. Why is it that nobody in the Press Corps can point this obvious flawed claim out to Gibbs and take him to task?
