I know I do. The '80s were awesome. You could walk with your head high, proud to be an American. My first grade teacher was a good Christian woman who had the Ten Commandments in her classroom. We even had a Bible teacher who would come to each room and teach about God. Even liberal hollywood was on board with patriotic movies. My dad would sit on the edge of his seat when President Reagan would come on TV.

I was in high school when our military bombed lybia, and nearly killed Kadaffy, and when our military base was bombed in lebenon and how Reagan stood up to the soviet union, and kadaffy, and anyone else who wanted to take a shot. America, our military, and safety/security was a priority. this commie/socialist/antiamerican tool known as obummer the great embarassment is ruining this great country, and he needs to be voted out in 2012, and at this point, anybody will do.

...I'll never forget the aftermath of the USSR blowing a commercial airliner out of the sky in '83.
Reagan went on national TV and played the radio transmissions between the Soviet pilot and the ground directing the attack that killed nearly 300 innocents. Of course, the liars in the Kremlin had denied it.
From that point on, the USSR understood the U.S. was no longer driven by a desire to "get along" with them, despite actions such as these.
Shortly thereafter, we had "tear down this wall", Reagan saying "nyet" to Gorbachev at Reykivik (sp.), SDI, and by '89, the evil empire was no more.
Yes, the world misses "The Gipper".

Indeed.
Reagan NEVER stood with his finger in the wind to see what response a majority of people would approve of.
As with the KAL 007 incident lightnin' mentions, or with the invasion of Grenada, or Gorby wanting to scuttle SDI, Ronaldus Magnus responded based on his principles, not on focus groups.
In other words, he LEAD.
I miss him every day. But we all know that he is within us-in the spirit that unleashed the greatest economic expansion in peace time history. We just have to summon it again.

Agreed! Let us hope that he will send good vibes in this election year - a lot is at stake...
