N.C. Democratic Gov. Bemoans Same-Sex Marriage Ban: ‘We Look Like Mississippi’
Madeleine Morgenstern- North Carolina Gov. Beverly Perdue said Friday her state’s vote to ban same-sex marriage made them “look like Mississippi.”
Voters in the state approved a constitutional amendment Tuesday defining marriage as between a man and a woman. The measure passed 61 percent to 39 percent.
“People around the country are watching us, and they’re really confused to have been such a progressive, forward-thinking, economically-driven state that invested in education and that stood up for the civil rights people including the civil rights marches back in the ‘50s and ’60s and ’70s,” Perdue told North Carolina’s WITN-TV. “Folks are saying what in the world is going on with North Carolina, we look like Mississippi.”

Well there's diplomacy for you. Let's see her weasel out of this one.

Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant, a Republican, fired back at Perdue later in the
day by calling her remarks “petty” and “very disappointing.”
He added in a written statement: “Apparently, North Carolina‘s voters are
much more in line with Mississippi’s traditional values on marriage than those
of Gov. Perdue.”

You can say that again.

There was an article on Yahoo news where Sen. Harry Reid made the mistake of saying that they (Democrats) were now "out to punish" North Carolina for their vote on the marriage amendment. There are even some pretty unfair remarks being left on the North Carolina Tourism page on Facebook about boycotting NC this summer. Personally, I just don't see a boycott working and I believe it will ultimately backfire on them. For a people who are so 'sensitive' to remarks about bigotry they were very 'insensitive' in firing them back towards North Carolinians.

This gay marriage thing and the way it was scammed has already backfired, and the resentful, vengeful Dems are only making it worse. They've made a huge miscalculation but the last thing they can do is admit it. Obama's not even mentioning it now.
Reid has lost his mind to say something like that, but it's typical of him. Perdue's mad dig at her own people and Mississippi to boot is even worse.
Here's the deal. They got away with this stuff when Barry was in tall cotton, but now he's lost his mojo and these dirty attacks won't fly. They're all empty suits and only making themselves look foolish. They're on a deep downhill slide and I see nothing they can do to bail themsleves out.
If you've poured over the news as I have today, for Barry and the Dems it was a bad day at Black Rock.

N.C. Gov. Perdue: Suspend elections for Congress
Was North Carolina Gov. Bev Perdue joking when she suggested holding off on elections for Congress?
Perdue, a Democrat elected in 2008, caused a stir Tuesday when she told a Rotary Club audience that congressional elections should be suspended for two years so lawmakers can focus on solving the nation's vexing economic problems.
"I think we ought to suspend, perhaps, elections for Congress for two years and just tell them we won't hold it against them, whatever decisions they make, to just let them help this country recover. I really hope that someone can agree with me on that," Perdue is quoted as saying. "You want people who don't worry about the next election."...

Well - folks here in NC do worry about the next election and Perdue is now not running for re-election any longer - as a matter of fact - we have a good chance for a republican governor...
Let's just say: NC is evolving - just not the way the dems would like.

Good Lord, it defies comprehension. They need to send Biden in there to straighten things out. Or maybe Debbie Blabbermouth Shultz. And how about Van Jones to put a little more communist flavor to things?
The good people of NC must be in shock from this lifting of the veil over the gang of goons who've been running the state.
