Liberalism Vs. Conservatism (Debate Forum) It isn't that Liberals are ignorant. It's just that they know so much that isn't so. - Ronald Reagan

...the DU philosophy. Really, this site is absolutely ridiculous.

I was banned yesterday because, like so many other people, I simply disagreed with the people there. Don't get wrong, there are alot of people over at the DU who know what they're talking about and are capable of putting up excellent arguments. The management however is just a bunch of juvenile delinquents on a power trip. Instead they hide behind grammar politics and personal attacks.

I sent an e-mail to the administrator asking precisely what it was I had done, and of course did not get a response.

Before I joined the short-lived debate, I made a post in one of the many pointless forums on the DU(in response to an attack on Laura Bush . Knowing how these places tend to work, I had the sense to copy/paste it:

"Who cares? This is the thing about democrats. You constantly resort to personal attacks. You're running off and digging up some crap about the first lady running a stop sign almost 40 years ago? Really, get some new material. Then again, in a forum dedicated to making people look bad, I guess this kind of garbage is to be expected.

So what's the point of this forum anyway? To demonize people because you don't agree with them? You people are no different than the Euros and Canadians who snub their noses at us no matter what we do. You simply can't stand us, and, since you're incapable of arguing in depth on pretty much anything, you become rude and condescending.

At any rate, I'm sure this post will be deleted and my account terminated. Why? Because places like this are simply incapable of dealing with outside opinions. The struggle between substance and symbollism. Democratic opinions are for the most part nothing but symbollism. Republicans apply substance to these opinions, and so the democrats immediately digress and begin to shift the focus to something else. This site's hatemail bag is a prime example of this. I read many pieces in there that had several good points, but the editor instead ignored these and highlighted things like grammatical errors and spelling errors.

Have you ever heard a democrat hosting a talk radio show? I haven't. A democrat would never make it on talk radio because he would have people calling in and tearing him to pieces. This rarely happens to conservative radio hosts. Conservative radio hosts take the issues beneath the surface and defeat the democratic ideas and opinions their callers bring forth. A democrat radio host would have a very hard time doing this, because, as I said before, most democratic opinions are nothing but symbollism."

Not only does the DU further almost every point that I made, all of my predictions ending up being true, and for the exact same reasons that I had said they would.

I'm not trying to make myself look omnipotent; nor am I just blowing off steam. This entire debacle, which has been shared by probably every Republican who has ever posted on DU, just goes to show how null the Democratic Party has become.
