Quote:
Q: Do you have a role model for first lady in mind?
A: The one thing I've learned from watching is that there really isn't a model, because every person coming in is different. Their experiences are different, and times have changed.
Q: You'd be different from Laura Bush?
A: Well, you know, I don't know Laura Bush. But she seems to be calm, and she has a sparkle in her eye, which is good. But I don't know that she's ever had a real job — I mean, since she's been grown up. So her experience and her validation comes from important things, but different things. And I'm older, and my validation of what I do and what I believe and my experience is a little bit bigger — because I'm older, and I've had different experiences. And it's not a criticism of her. It's just, you know, what life is about.

I guess TEACHING doesn't qualify as a REAL JOB in Ta-ray-zah's world?

Guess not...so I suppose in her world what I did today was spend a day at the spa, right? Where I just happened to talk about math and science all day to a bunch of kids who showed up. I'm glad I get to enjoy such a life of leisure, like Mrs. Bush did!

Gordon Johndroe, a spokesman for Mrs. Bush, said the first lady was not upset by the comments.

I think this was/is a way to change the subject on issues.John Kerry's message is not taking hold even among loyal democrats. This was a horrible miscalculation.Even those who disagree with the President still like and admire Laura Bush.It is also irrelevant since Laura Bush has not been elected to anything and stays away from policy decisions.

Gee Teresa, I guess having a Master's Degree and working a school teacher, a librarian and then raising twins is a real job, compared to inheriting a condiment fortune?
Her apology was even worse than her intial stupid statment, as it implies that raising a family isn't a job.
Dear Teresa, take your condiment money and " SHOVE IT!!"

OT a bit, but that pic distorts tax-exempt interest. Typically it includes interest earned on things like municipal utility bonds and such, so it's not just some nasty little loop-hole without any redeeming qualities. Beyond that, with her income, she defiantly got hit with AMT so it's not even true that the interest was "tax-free".
Just so no one takes any of that the wrong way, I am not saying that Herman Munster and the Bride of Frankenstein are anything less than the hypocritical weasels that they are. I'm just getting exasperated with the whole "Teresa doesn't pay her fair share and Edwards had an S-corp to cheat the system" line.

Thanks Taxman, for throwing cold water on my Teresa spoof.
Let me try again.
There nothing in that spoof relating to your profession. As far as cross dressers go, I'm not letting King Cantona back in until after the election.
