<font color="black" c>Young Voters
Though it’s not clear who they’ll vote for, most 18- to 29-year-olds say for now, they’re behind both the president and the war in Iraq

Larry Downing / Reuters
Teen idol: Bush's support from young voters is surprisingly strong
WEB EXCLUSIVE
By Jonathan Darman
Newsweek

Young voters are sharply divided on the economy, the Iraq war and overall approval of President George W. Bush’s job performance, according to an exclusive new NEWSWEEK poll conducted among young voters, the Newsweek Genext Poll. While the near-equal partisan divide among young voters mirrors the split between U.S. voters overall, the poll also suggests that on social issues like abortion and gay marriage, 18-29 year-olds are eager to move beyond the partisan battles of the past.

The Full Story

<font color="purple" c>And the poll</font c>

Do you think that people under 30 will have to sacrifice the most for the Iraq war and the Bush administration's war on terror?

Pogo figger that the 9-11 stuff sunk in to some younguns noggins.

they has proofs that the world is dangerous, an' not all fun an' games.

Too bad mos' liberals still ain't able to sees that yet. When a pusson face realliddy, liberalism is squooshed like an ole roach bug.

Perhappy a long term effeck of 9-11 is that folks won't takes freedom an' safety fer granted, an' gets involved in what hoppens in the big picher.

An' the more info folk has, Pogo is sure that liberalism will be defeeted inna big way.

The USA needs to look at realiddy. Some of the stuffs we do is playin' wid fire:

coddlin' dictators, an' bein' "nice" to dizpickable countries. Iff this country wood sticks to the HIGH ROAD, an' be ethical, mos' probblems wood melts away like butter--

an' if the nation repents, an' come back to God, we wood be safe as safe coold be.

Well, that is what Pogo think.

I like to be as optimistic as the next guy, but in reality, I doubt Bush will win Washington, Wisconsin, or Michigan...and I think Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Oregon are toss-ups. I would love to be proved wrong here. Otherwise, the map looks pretty accurate to me.

where in Oregon are you, cal?

I'm in Beaverton.

I'd say outside of Multnomah County, Oregon is probably pretty Republican. (notice I didn't say conservative?)

keep in mind, Gordon Smith got re-elected here, and Bush lost Oregon in 2000 by only a few hundred votes.

I heard Jerry Brown (mayor of Oakland) say that California is in play.. I'd like to think so..
