Sound file question

Does anyone know anything about .XMI sound files and how to convert them to a more flexible format (like MIDI or WAV)?

I've also been searching for a method to convert .ASF music files to .MP3, or at least a mammoth WAV so I can work from there...

Go to this page, scroll down to the bottom, and download xmi2mid.zip, XMI to MID converter.

It runs in a command prompt window. The format would be XMI2MID.EXE FILENAME.XMI FILENAME.MID.

If you want the full monty, go here and download Awave Studio, which converts a huge number of formats. The trialware is very limited, but the price is $140. I'd suggest trying the DOS coverter first if you don't need the bells and whistles.

Many thanks! No bells and whistles required. I just have a few old files want to either port over or get rid of, given the limitations of what can read them.
