There's WAY too much Bush-bashing over there, as of late. Mocking Bush 41 & 43. I'll have no more! Reckon I'll stay a spell at the true home of patriotism, conservatism, & all things great about America - the land that I love.
G.W., keep up the great work. You make America proud!

IMO, it's quite the opposite. He's the 1st president in recent memory to take on the U.N. America will go it alone in the war on terror, if that's what it takes. He should be applauded.

I agree with Houston67, Bush basically told the the UN to grow a spine or it would go the way of the League of Nations and become irrelevant.

W has the UN wrapped around his finger. His father was too much of a gentleman and too honest of an ambassador of Good Will for the UN. W saw how fast the UN turned on his father and knows the UN is nothing more than a Hate America Front. His father thought he could win them over by honestly supporting their vision and reaching out to them. W has used their own words and deeds to hogtie them and I am sure he has only just begun dealing with them.
Just as Reagan correctly called the UN “a den of thieves”, then years later was asked by the UN to address them since he proved his resolve far greater than anything they could muster; so has W demonstrated by correctly insinuating during his own address to the UN that they are traipsing down the same road as the League of Nations.
I know there are some relishing the dip in the polls for W, but no one is enjoying it more than W himself.
The best time to have your recessions, downturns, and the popular tide moving against you is as far from an election as possible. There is no jeopardy at that point and no political capital at risk. This also gives you plenty of time to plan and generate a positive swing to correspond with the next election cycle. Judging how W's approval ratings have dipped right after an election tells me that he has already begun forecasting how to make the tide to rise again for him and further drub the mules during the ’04 elections with unstoppable momentum.
W will still execute all the things that need be (like Saddam) and continue to implement his agenda. This will undoubtedly make the left squeal and has caused the dip in poll numbers since he is not making an effort at present to counter the left's whining.
While the mules are still muddling around and trying to find a message or a strategy for dealing with the W that smashed them in a off year election, he has once again shifted gears on them and is running in a totally different style than what the mules saw in ’02.
The media is salivating that history may repeat again and can’t contain their hopes of watching an unbeatable and popular Republican President named Bush become human and implode right before re-election. What they are forgetting is that there will be no Ross Perot to split the Republican vote and that this particular model of the President Bush series is more advanced, more strategic, and more of a three-dimensional thinker than the 1989 prototype.
Today, the left can do all the victory dances they wish. It is fun to watch them think they are somehow in charge of what bills the Republican Congress passes, or what judges the Republican White House will nominate. Come election time, when it matters, W has already displayed his ability to not only defy history, but to reduce his opposition to nothing more than a bad episode of Pee Wee’s playhouse.

I think the UN has outlived its purpose and should be dismembered so to speak. There are too many pansies involved for it to be effective anymore, plus alot of US money funds the UN. I think it's time to say "Buh Bye!!!" regardless of whether they support us in this endeavor or not.
