Anyone watch the game last night? Normally I watch until halftime and go to bed, but last night I stayed up until the bitter end to watch Favre work his magic. Having recently lost my Stepfather, who was as dear to me as anyone on this earth, I understand Favre's pain and I can't believe how well he did last night in the face of everything. I am sure it was gratifying to go out and have one of the best games of his career, but I'm sure he was also hurting, knowing that his father was not there to see the game. That was a game to remember, even better than the classic Packer-Redskin game back in '83 or so when the Packers won a shootout with a score of something like 48-45.

Buckley...It was incredible to see the zone that Brett was in last night. He was serious, focused and because of the shock and pain of losing his dad...he seemed to have a calm about him that elevated his game. He made tremendous throws, good decisions and totally picked apart the Raiders defense. I have to admit that Green Bay is playing well...but they'll need help in order to make the playoffs. My heart goes out to Brett and his family. He proved to be a huge inspiration to me as I watched the game with my sons. I too coach my boys in football. It's a special bond I have with them. Football allows me to express a myriad of life issues with them. Learning about Brett's dad and what he meant to him...made me appreciate my situation even more. I will do all I can to try and have as much of a positive effect on my boys...as Irvin Favre had on Brett.

I loved the game last night! I am a lifetime Packers fan and I consider Favre to be one of the best (if not the best) quarterback in the NFL (ever). He was so focused and so determined. It was a joy to watch him. As Brett himself said, I'm sure Irv was watching!

(BTW, his performance last night clinched my taking the championship in my fantasy football league.)

I was thinking the same thing last night as I watched. And not only did I believe that Brett had dedicated the game to his dad but that his teammates had dedicated the game to HIM because of his decision to play.

The one moment that stands out the most was as Brett stood on the sidelines talking to his teammates with a smile on his face and tears in his eyes. You could see the pain he was in, but there seemed to be a sense of joy that they had played so well for his dad.

Last night was without a doubt one of if not "the" most fantastic performance by an NFL quarterback in history, my heart goes out to the Favre family, I know Irv was watching from the big jumbotron in the sky, and had to have chills of pride for his son...

Rest in peace Irv Favre
