Major League Baseball officials last night scrapped a plan to place logos advertising the upcoming flick "Spider-Man 2" on the bases in 15 ballparks after the idea was blasted by angry fans.
The doomed plan - already rejected by the Yankees - was part of a joint marketing venture MLB made with Columbia Pictures, which is releasing the projected blockbuster June 30.
The logos would have adorned first, second and third bases during the June 11-13 weekend of interleague play.
