Is there a way that I can find out where a document was sent from... Say someone started a document and sent as an attachment...is there a way I can find out where the document was originally from. Other than IP address?
I guess this a question for Finman.
I am trying so hard to prove to my husband that the witch he's with is the one that did all this..For some reason he's trying to play dumb ,and say he has no idea who sent the email I'm talking about other than he knows I didn't do it.

Katie--I am not really sure what is going on with you and your husband at this point, and I hope somehow it all works out...but if you ARE divorcing either now or in the future and he was cheating on you, you can sue his girlfriend for alienation of affection (NC is one of the states where that is possible as long as the girlfriend knew that her partner was married when she had the affair). One of my coworkers is doing that and according to her lawyer the minimum amount she can receive from suing is $25K. Just thought that might help if you weren't aware....I am out of town right now but I'll ask my husband about the tracing info thing, he may know. I will be home Tuesday. Good luck with everything....

Are you really positive that he's cheating on you? If so, I'd get a private detective in on this, but only if you are really, really, really sure.
I really don't know what's between your husband and you at this point. Are you sure that this woman isn't trying to sabatoge the marriage by sending you inflammatory things? Just curious. Sometimes, I find women much more brutal and conniving in these ways. She might be just doing things without his knowledge.
Again, hire a private detective if you really want to find out.

Katie,
I'm so sorry to hear about all the trouble you are going through........
I just talked to my Mom who works in the Investigations Unit for our local Police Department...she is an admin assistant and works closely with the officers.........
If it is a criminal matter then you should check with your local police department's investigations unit....they could hook you up with someone trianed in computers. If it is a civil matter then you would need to hire a private dectective.
I hope this helps you some....Good Luck!!!!

I'm 100% positive that he is. He's living in her house. He got kicked out of the house Sept. 1st.

I was able to trace it back to her for certain. Now it's just a matter of me going to press charges. I talked to a detective, and what she did is considered cyberstalking. It's a class 2 misdemeanor in NC that carries up to six months in jail and a one thousand dollar fine.

Ugh, well I didn't hear that part. It's pretty obvious then.
I'd say if she is definitely harassing you, follow all through as the legal system allows you. Good luck on that. I'm sorry that it happened.

By all means...press charges to the full extent of the law!!! Criminal charges of course, and if you have or are getting a lawyer, really consider suing her for alienation of affection. Yes, your husband is ultimately the one responsible for remaining faithful to you, but these homewrecking ho-bags shouldn't be allowed to get away with what they do.
Having said all of that, I really hope it all comes out all right for you in the end. You have my thoughts, prayers, and best wishes!

What is it about women that seem to revel in taking away a married man? Sure, I guess you're 'one-up' on the other girl, but think about it. What makes you such a sad sack to go after a married man and break his vows. It really makes one look like a two-bit homewrecking whore.
I notice a lot more women do this in men. Jeez. There are plenty of single men milling about, why mess with a married one? And above all that, act like a psycho hose beast and email crappy letters to his wife? That is just psycho stupid.

I agree. Get all you can out of her and send her away for as long as possible. And if you pursue divorce, take Ivana Trump's advice and "Don't get mad, Get EVERYTHING"
