Possible sighting

In about 1955 or so we were visiting my grandpa on the Dos Pueblos ranch just outside Goleta Ca. and I was riding a horse named Honey Bun owned by actress Ann Sothern. The girl I was riding with may have been her daughter but I don't know for sure. We saw a man and a boy riding horses down closer to the beach than we were allowed to go and the girl told me it was Ronald Reagan and his son. Well that meant nothing at all to me until many years later when I recalled the incident after hearing his name again. It also could have been another person entirely, memories being what they are.

Anyone know where he lived in the middle 50's?
