Exclamation BAM!...Michael Vick Pleads GUILTY!!

It's couldn't have happened to a better piece of human garbage!

Quote:
<img src="http://www.gambling911.com/Michael-Vick-Marshals.jpg" align=right>Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick has pleaded guilty to federal charges related to a dogfighting ring, according to a statement from his attorney.

In the statement by attorney Billy Martin, Vick agreed to plead guilty and accept a plea deal and will "accept full responsibility for his actions and the mistakes he has made," ESPN and Fox News reported Monday.

Vick is expected to be sentenced next Monday at US District Court here. He could face up to five years in prison and fines of more than 250,000 dollars as a result of the charges, although a lesser sentence is likely from the deal.
"After consulting with his family over the weekend, Michael Vick asked that I announce today that he has reached an agreement with federal prosecutors regarding the charges pending against him," Martin's statement said.

"Mr. Vick has agreed to enter a plea of guilty to those charges and to accept full responsibility for his actions and the mistakes he has made."
"Michael wishes to apologizes again to everyone who has been hurt by this matter."

A grand jury was hearing evidence Monday on more possible charges that could have been filed against Vick, including racketeering gambling charges that would have greatly raised the stakes and possible prison term Vick might face.

The agreement also brings into question Vick's National Football League future. Vick had been banned from the Falcons' training camp by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell until his role in the scheme was more fully explained.

Goodell was expected to inform Vick about any possible banishment because of the guilty plea later on Monday, according to reports.

Three co-defendants of Vick had agreed to plea deals in exchange for contributing evidence to the case against Vick, who was charged with taking animals over state lines as part of a dogfight gambling ring.
Graphic details of his abuse of the dogs, including brutal methods of killing the animals, led to protests against him outside the courtroom and the club's headquarters.

Here is Michael Vick's future new training camp.

I hope the inmates treat him the same way he treated his dogs!

Yeah this stuff really burns me too. How defenseless of a victim is an animal. I have no sympathy for him whatever his punishment is. Second animal abusers never stop with animals.

I have a very strong feeling he'll serve no time but will write a check with lots of zeros...probably to PETA or the ASPCA.

I am scratching my head over the fact there's lots of people grossed out over the way he treated dogs but some of the same people who are so horrified have zero interest in the rights of the unborn.

Well, his career in the NFL is over. Once his prison term is up, maybe he can find work in the following areas:

1. Washing dishes, Grill Cook, or Bus Tables at a restaurant
2. Digging Ditches
3. Working in a Factory or Warehouse
4. Work in a Landfill or Dump
5. Stock shelves at Wal-Mart
6. Work for McDonald's or other fast foods
7. Become a janitor
8. Work in maintenance
9. Pick up trash along the road
10. If none of the above appeals to him or if he's unemployable by even these standards, then he can always do manual labor.

I don't think so, as this is a federal case and the judge that will be sentencing him is known for some very serious sentencing.

Quote:
SI.com: Could the judge impose a stiffer sentence?

Dohrmann: Usually judges stick to the guidelines, although the judge in Vick's case -- judge Henry Hudson -- let it be known at the plea hearing for Peace and Phillips last Friday that he could sentence them to five years in prison and they couldn't then get out of their pleas (or appeal). If Vick agrees to plead guilty to the same single charge as his friends (federal dogfighting conspiracy), he faces the same quandary. He might get the sentence his lawyers negotiated with prosecutors or he might get more. Hudson won't make the final decision until the sentencing hearing, the date of which we won't know until Monday.

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...0/dohrmann.qa/
Also, now that the federal aspect is out of the way...the state now wants a piece of him.

Quote:
DN: Gerald Poindexter, the Virginia Commonwealth attorney in Surry County, told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he plans to prosecute Vick and others on animal cruelty and dog fighting charges. How do state charges affect the federal plea negotiations? Can federal prosecutors give Vick immunity from potential state charges?

Frick: "I'm sure people are on the phone talking to each other but the feds can't tie the state and the state can't tie the feds. If he was in state court, they can't say, 'if you plead here we will keep you from fed charges.' You will not see a formal plea agreement saying he will plea to federal charges and this is what he is going to get in state charges."
"(The federal prosecutors and state prosecutor) will probably talk and it has been my experience that the state and feds don't talk too much and a lot of times don't get along too well. I am pretty sure that the defense is trying to make sure there is some kind of communication. The defense is trying to figure out what Virginia wants to do and what the feds want to do and come up with the best deal on both sides."

Also, the NFL's new commisioner Roger Goodell is a no nonsense commisioner, who sees red at even a whiff of any of the NFL's players involved in gambling (doesn't even have to be football).

Most people doubt that Vick will ever play NFL football again, as long as Roger Goodell is in charge.

I've so far been pretty happy with the new conduct policy that Goodell has implemented. Vick could have gone to trial and been found not guilty, and it wouldn't have mattered, as Goodell goes by his new conduct policy in which Vick is already in scalding water for lying to Goodell about gambling.

I don't know how it's all going to wash out, but I haven't seen any sympathy so far for this piece of garbage.

And I don't think any team would touch him. its not like a T.O. situation.

While I dearly hope you are correct and also agree Goodell is no a bull type commish. I am not sold he won't play again. His athletic ability will probably get him back in. I dearly hope thats not the case, however lets face it, pro sports does not have a good punitive hit record.
I keep wondering if he may end up in the cfl.

I have heard that the NAACP actually tried to defend Michael because he is a black man. Personally the more we clean the dirt, the better everything will be.

I also can see Libertarian grounds for allowing dog fighting, but it isn't a small thing. There were like 40 bodies buried like Serial killer victims all scattered and treated like trash. I know that in some countries, dog is a delicacy, but at least it sounds like those countries basically have PETA influenced rounds of dog pick-me-ups with graphically influenced abuses.

I am not much into sports, yet like Ray Lewis this will be read and talked about by people who are not into sports. It is ridiculous. These are not dog races, they are actual fight to the death dog fights where dogs are buried with no respect, no names like they are just Fido hauled back into the wild by a very strange human being. Why would Vicks do it anyways? It sounds bizzare.
