I remember those who have served and sacrificed and will continue to aid and support the families left behind.

People go on Vacation in the Holiday spirit of things but forget why we have Memorial Day!
GOG BLESS ALL THAT MADE US A FREE COUNTRY AND GIVING THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE!
Raise your Flags and say prayers, remember you have the luxury of vacation because someone gave you freedom!

Thank you for every other vet and armed services member for your service. It is duly appreciated.

We should all remember those that have fought and continue to fight to keep our freedom this Memorial Day.
I'm going to a service down at the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington DC tomorrow.........Dad used to donate to that cause and since he was also a war veteran (Korean War) I couldn't think of a nicer way to honor him too.

That cemetary is gorgeous! What a wonderful memorial. Thanks for sharing, Ozzie! Most of the time it feels like Europe vastly underappreciates the sacrifice Americans made for it in the past.

Who is that "Europe", my friend? What you get to hear are the opinions of politicians, journalists and university professors. All of them consider themselves to be intellectuals, and at the same time they consider themselves to be speaking "for the people". Most of these are simply morons, totally out of touch with reality, and only speaking for their own little circle of moonbats.

Iraq is going well.
I must echo Ozzie's sentiments. I know quite a few people from Europe and the middle east and they know that this process will make a better future then if we would have left it alone. I think Chev was just stating that the portion you were speaking of, Oz, is the portion that makes her feel the USA is unappreciated.
Here's to all the troops that made/make a sacrifice so I can go outside today and see a blue and free sky and hope that others, no matter where they are on Earth, will be able to see a sky that free in thier land someday.
Thank you.

I was that which others did not want to be.
I went where others feared to go, and did what others failed to do.
I asked nothing from those who gave nothing.
And reluctantly accepted the thought of eternal loneliness... should I fail.
I have seen the face of terror; felt the stinging cold of fear; and enjoyed the sweet taste of a moment’s love.
I have cried, pained, and hoped...but most of all, I have lived times others would say were best forgotten.
At least someday, I will be able to say that I was proud of what I was... a soldier.
