After paying close attention to all the candidates, I have concluded that Sen. John McCain is the only sane choice. When it comes to Thompson, I think its nappytime for pop, Ron Paul is in the Twilight Zone with his fanatical Paulites, and Guliani has been a disappointment, he's also a polarizing figure who is passionately hated by elements on both sides of the isle. Mormon Mitt is a plastic phony who will apparently say anything to get elected, and then theres the baptist minister Huck, who may be surging with evangelicals in fly over country but thats about it. This has left no other choice than McCain. I disagree with his campaign finance reform and his immigration bill, but on all the most important issues like security and the economy, and when it comes to stature and experience, hes the only rational choice. Another thing to consider is what would happen in a general election, according to real clear politics, McCain is the only one with a shot at beating Hillary, Obama, or even John 'two Americas' Edwards. What do you guys think about this? I'll probably get flamed again.
I have a problem voting for someone who worked with a far-left liberal to successfully put a limit on political speech.

He (McCain) seems to be gaining a little steam at this point in the election, he's getting a shot in the arm by the press because of his foreign policy expierance, I don't really think I'll endorse him, at least I haven't yet. I don't think he's the most electible. at all. Although I think he's one of several candidates that I think can beat any democrat right now, he's not the most electible on the right though, its Rudy. Thier just not willing to admit that yet, they will though, eventually.
You might want to take a second look at Thompson again. He supported McCain-Feingold.
But, just to throw ya a bone.....

Fred seems like a nice gentleman, but he doesn't strike me as having either the credentials or the stature. I'm disappointed with Guiliani and I doubt he can win. He has managed to generate lots of hate, its almost on par with Bush derangement syndrome. For one thing, the Paulites despise Guiliani, and if Paul runs independently, which I assume he will, (what else is he going to do with all that cash?) Guiliani will get creamed. That doesn't take into account all the other assorted 911 deniers and kooks from the left. Judging from everything Ive seen and heard, its my estimation that McCain gives us the best chance of beating Hillary, and he is the most qualified for the job. I disagree with his position on Campaign finance reform and border security, and I certainly won't shed a tear the next time a Khalid Sheik Muhammad is water boarded, but on many of the most important issues such as security, health care and the economy, I think he is the best choice. For example, consider his position on the war in Iraq, he has been right every time where others have been wrong. He also has first hand knowledge of whats happening in Iraq, unlike the other candidates who haven't even been there.
Fred Thompson is the only sane choice for me. He's not a flip-flopping moron like Ron Paul. And he's been a conservative his whole life.
For me Fred is the favorite, I just don't think he's the most electible, I think its Rudy. Six months ago I thought Fred would be in much better shape than he is now. He's really been kind of a let down, its still a little early though, there is more than enough time for him to gain steam. We'll see what happens. I think Rudy gives us the best shot against Hillary though. They can say what they want, Hillary is comin out of the Democratic Primaries, if all else fails she can boil the blood of her opponents, kind of like she did the water in the baptismal. Woops not nice,, my bad.
