Obama v. McCain: Setting the Tone

Well I say McCain is in serious trouble now, even GOP is not yet warming him up.But don’t worry it’s still an early race then. You never know a senior citizen might have the momentum to smoke the competition between the two; but then again I find this unlikely. The poll that I saw in PollClash, so far, is accurate. And it seems that the recent WSJ/NBC poll coincides with what pollcalash have, Now that the candidates are set for the US Presidential Election, Barack Obama and John McCain are beginning to set the tone for their campaign. Looking at their most recent speeches, what do you think about what you hear?

I really don't pay much attention to polls at this point.

At this same time in 1980, Carter was still ahead of Reagan. We know how that turned out.

I definately ignore polls. When I worked for the RNC in 2004 our polls were way different from the medias.
Polls are another sign of a lazy America. They are great in terms of using a statistic and perverting the result to what they need convey.
McCAin will hands down lose if he keeps campaigning on the "im a nice guy, the democrats were right" platform.

Before I start be warned this is a long post, loaded with usefull info and backed up by sources, I felt obligated because of the gut feeling I got over the post that started this thread, so bear with me and enjoy. Well where do I start, everything you just said is so easy to debunk it makes me wonder if you are here at the instruction of the Obama camp. Here you go.
WSJ/NBC, please these media outlets have proven during President Bush's tenure to have a leftist policy, they should be immediatly disregarded. I remember in 04 guys like the idiot Chris Mathews claimed polls indicated Kerry the winner, he spit these lies out until he was forced into truth.
If Obama does not select Hillary for a running mate, stick a fork in him. The DNC should have pulled the rug out from under Obama's feet, and yes they could have, that party has been making up the rules as they go for quite sometime now. Howard Dean wanted a unified party before they hit Colorado, so did Pelosi, with these two pulling strings it just about guarantees victory for the gop.
During the Gen. Elec. Obama will not be able to get away with the things he did during the primaries either, I'm not just talking about the numerous gaffes from both leftist camps. Things like tossing water bottles to googly eyed girls and saying something charming. What a joke. This guy does not need people to vote for him he needs people to baby sit him. Leave my wife alone!!
Whats that about? Michelle Obama fires things off and Barack sais we can't call her on it. Yea, go throw your other Grandmother under the bus.
Dems say Obama brings change. Well here is the change I believe he will bring.

>> Part 1
>>
>> In just one year. Remember the election in 2006?
>> Thought you might like to read the following:
>> A little over one year ago:
>>
>> 1) Consumer confidence stood at a 2 1/2 year high;
>> 2) Regular gasoline sold for $2.19 a gallon;
>> 3) The unemployment rate was 4.5%.
>>
>> Since voting in a Democratic Congress in 2006 we have seen:
>>
>> 1) Consumer confidence plummet;
>> 2) The cost of regular gasoline soar to over $3..50 a gallon;
>> 3) Unemployment is up to 5% (a 10% increase);
>> 4) American households have seen $2.3 trillion in equity value evaporate (stock and mutual fund losses);
>> 5) Americans have seen their home equity drop by $1.2 trillion dollars; < BR>6) 1% of American homes are in foreclosure.
>>
>> America voted for change in 2006, and we got it!
>>
>> Remember it's Congress that makes law not the President.
>>
>> He has to work with what's handed to him.
>
>
>
>
>> Part 2:
>>
>> Taxes...Whether Democrat or a Republican you will find these statistics enlightening and amazing.
>> www.taxfoundation.org/publications/show/151.html
>>
>> Taxes under Clinton 1999 Taxes under Bush 2008
>> Single making 30K - tax $8,400 Single making 30K - tax $4,500
>> Single making 50K - tax $14,000 Single making 50K - tax $12,500
>> Single making 75K - tax $23,250 Single making 75K - tax $18,750
>> Married making 60K - tax $16,800 Married making 60K- tax $9,000
>> Married making 75K - tax $21,000 Married making 75K - tax $18,750
>> Married making 125K - tax $38,750 Married making 125K - tax $31,250
>>
>> Both democratic canidates will return to the higher tax rates
>>
>> It is amazing how many people that fall into the categories above think Bush is screwing them and Bill Clinton was the greatest President ever. If Obama or Hillary are elected, they both say they will repeal the Bush tax cuts and a good portion of the people that fall into the categories above can't wait for it to happen. This is like the movie The Sting with Paul Newman; you scam somebody out of some money and they don't even know what happened.

>> Are we THAT stupid?

Everything the Democratic Party puts out is illusional, EVERYTHING! They would not know truth if it smacked them in the mouth. They are the biggest threat to our national security today, not just Obama or Clinton but the whole party. They have morphed into something we should all be ashamed of they have morphed into something that I do not consider my fellow Americans anymore, they have told to many lies, they have subverted one to many war efforts, with them lies the devil. The moral divide between the two parties needs to remain wide, by attempting to narrow that divide conservatives will have to go against there own morals, in the long run that is a huge mistake. That is all.

Polls are fun to watch, but they can be terribly wrong. Remember John Kerry's 'landslide victory' 04 election polls? Just more recently a Democratic primary poll was embarrassingly far off the mark. I look at these polls that predict Obama victory and I cant help but laugh. Clinton could have beat McCain, but not Obama. He doesn't stand a chance.
