First, Welcome back to the board Angus, even if it takes lousy riding weather to get you here.

I'm not gonna go into all the fun I missed but only comment on one of the first things you said:

A speech like that today would, sadly, be counter-productive, and turn people off. The entire political community (both sides of the aisle) have shifted left.

Too many of us stand back and watch as the left pulls their PC crap on us. We let them steal the language. We let the ACLU force us into crap that makes us unsafe, just because we can't call a spade a spade. We are no longer allowed to profile criminals based upon what statistics clearly show are trends. We are strip searching 90 year old women (yes, I'm exagerrating a little, but really) at airports to make sure they're not carrying a bomb.

Illegal aliens cross our borders with a 75% success rate, including known terrorists and our border patrol agents have to fear using their weapons because some cowboy prosecutor may side with the drug dealing mule from Mexico.

We have stood around and allowed the left to make these agendas their homes and now we are where we are.

We have GOT to take back the language and tell these people to shut up.

So, thanks for coming back and raising my blood pressure by 20 points

I can't argue with anything you said.

It wasn't bad weather that got me back here. It was the Mrs. & it was McCain's BRILLIANT move in selecting Palin as his running mate. What a phenominal chess move that was! The day after Obama's big speech when he was expecting his big bounce, McCain names Palin.. A female likely to draw disgruntled Hillary supporters, a hard-core conservative to re-awaken the base, and a mom to woo the soccer-moms that went for Clinton last time!

It was a thing of genius.
