Missing My President

: RONNIE WAS THE MAN THAT MADE ME FEEL LIKE AN AMERICAN HE TOLD IT LIKE IT WAS TAKE IT OR LEAVE IT ,THE ONLY TIME I GOT TO MEET MY HERO WAS IN OCTOBER OF 1984 IN GULFPORT.MS I WAS 5 YEARS OLD AND AFTER HIS SPEECH HE WALKED THE CROWD AND PASSED BY MY FATHER HOLDING ME ,LOOKED OVER RUBBED ME ON THE HEAD AND ASKED IF WAS OLD ENOUGH TO VOTE ,I SAID NO MR PRESIDENT THE HE LOOKED AT MY DAD AND SAID LET'S SEE WHAT I CAN DO ABOUT THAT , THEN WILL ALWAYS BE THE BEST PRESIDENT EVER I MISS HE LIKE HE WAS MY DAD RIP RONNIE

Never met him, but saw him speak

I watched him campaign in 1980---I wasn't old enough to vote, but I supported him and was active in trying to get adults to vote for him. I proudly cast a ballot for him in 1984, when I was of voting age. What a tremendous President he was, and a tremendous man. Boy oh boy, how America could use him right now. He'd know what to say and he'd know what to do---he inherited a situation in 1980 that was every bit as bad as today---double digit inflation, unemployment and interest rates and a communist threat from the U.S.S.R. Ronald Reagan met every challenge head-on and he empowered Americans to solve our own problems instead of promising to solve problems for us. That's called being a leader. He was the best one in my lifetime.
