Voted for Christie
I just voted for Chris Christie and a Republican ticket. The State of NJ actually has a chance to disgorge the goonish taxation thug Jon Corzine, and I'm very excited about that.
I see Republican Chris Smith isn't up for re-election until 2010.... I can wait. I will vote for the Democrat running against Smith in 10 due to his radical cap-and-trade vote. Any so-called Republican who could go along with Obama's cap-and-trade agenda, one which would "cause our energy rates to sky-rocket" (Obama's own words), must be opposed. I might even be surprised to find the Democrat running against Smith to be more conservative and responsible.

Looks like ACORN has plans to counter Legitimate Right of Center votes:
ACORN Aims to Tip New Jersey Election in Corzine's Favor
Quote:
|
ACORN-linked groups from neighboring Pennsylvania and New York "appear to have moved into the state," Fund wrote. Fund also reported that the state's Democratic Party is pressuring county clerks around the Garden State to downplay signature checks on absentee ballots. Without such checking, it is very difficult to detect absentee vote fraud.
|
Quote:
Absentee ballots become critical in every recount, and New Jersey officials are reporting a marked increase in requests for absentee ballots.
"There has been a reported surge in absentee balloting, which might be suspicious but isn't necessarily proof of anything," Vadum tells Newsmax.
Fund reports that state officials received "a flood" of more than 180,000 requests for absentee ballots.
"On some 3,000 forms the signature doesn't match the one on file with county clerks," Fund adds.
|
IF ACORNers continue to tamper with elections to TIP them in favor of Left-of-Center candidates and State/Federal authorities refuse to aggressively prosecute such tampering; then there is no point in holding elections. Not at least until we hold our own referendum on the matter, previously referred to as the War of Independence.

we'll see how it pans out Rumor, if Christie wins by a slim margin and 10,000 ballots for Corzine suddenly turn up in someones trunk, then I agree. I won't even bother to vote again unless laws are passed to end such fraud and corruption.

If it looks like dirt, taste like dirt, and smells like dirt...
Pollster Cries Fraud, Cites N.J. Election 'Chicanery'
Quote:
|
According to Wall Street Journal columnist and author John Fund, a campaign adviser for an independent mayoral candidate in Camden has reported absentee balloting in the city is running 15 times higher than in a normal election. Part of the increase, Caddell said, is due to a new "Vote by Mail" law that Corzine signed in June.
|
How convenient that Corzine signed into law, legislation that would promote Voter Fraud by ACORNers and would be of particular help to his re-election.
Quote:
The law allows voters to opt to automatically receive mail-in ballots for all state elections, eliminating the need to ever show up at a polling place and submit identification. Some observers believe the law leaves New Jersey elections more vulnerable to fraud.
Caddell says that while the new law accounts for some of the increase in absentee balloting "part of it is what's happening."
"There is chicanery," Caddell told Cavuto, adding that he expected to be attacked for what he was saying.
|
It's most likely dirt.

Please don't take this wrong, I am happy for Christie.
But I am really rooting for Conservative candidate Doug Hoffman. My reason is to send a message to the GOP, that they need to return to Conservatism. If Hoffman looses to the Democrat, the GOP will take that as a sign they should keep pushing for moderates.

The GOP went two for two in gubernatorial races on Tuesday.

Former U.S. Attorney Chris Christie (R) unseated Gov. Jon Corzine (D) in New Jersey, and former Virginia Attorney General Robert McDonnell (R) won an open seat in Virginia.
