Uh, see the 1969 Yenko SC/427 Nova.
3.5 on the stock Good Year Wide Tread GT tires. </font>
That's true. I was just reading an article about 427 Yenko SC/427 Novas.
It said, with a good driver and proper tires and rear axle ratio, the could do 0-60 mph in under 4 seconds.

Not really. In fact, the prices are higher now than they've ever been. If you can find any 68-71 Hemi B-body in concours restored condition for under $100,000 today, OWN IT!!! Concours Hemi Road Runners are regularly bringing $125,000+ on the open market. 440+6 Road Runners and Super Bees, that were bringing $35-40,000 five years ago are now regularly $60-75,000 today. A 71 HemiCuda convertible recently brought $2,000,000, more than twice the price of the last one that sold. HemiCuda hardtops have doubled in price in the last few years, going from around $100,000 to $200,000. And everything is the same way. A 1970 Yenko Deuce Nova, a car which had been bringing around $55,000, sold just a few weeks ago for $130,000, more than doubling. I know of a standing offer of $2,000,000 on one of the two remaining 1970 Hemi Coronet R/T convertibles. The owner turned it down. I also know of a standing offer of $450,000 on one of the 6 known 1969 Yenko 427 Novas. The car is complete and original, but needs restoration. That offer was also turned down. This doesn't show any sign of slowing down, either. [/QB]</font>
I guess the prices went down (in the early '90s) then went up again. I do remember '59 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz (convertibles) which were selling for $80-100,000 in the late '80s were "down" to $60-80,000 in the early '90s.

Oh yeah, especially if it's something odd. For example, you could get one with the L-74 code 455 engine (365 horse, I think ) with a four speed trans, but you couldn't get the L-75 code 455 (370 horse) with the 4-speed. According the Pontiac Master Parts book, this was not an available combination. But one documented L-75 4-speed car does exist, despite Pontiac's denial that any were built. If there's one, there's probably more. So either, the car has some value. If it's an oddball like a 370 horse stick car, it's worth more just for the oddity of it.

Kinda wierd actually, the economy went downhill, but musclecar prices, which generally kind of mirror the economy, exploded, and have kept climbing.

I once helped somebody put a corvette motor in a pinto. Think that would be worth anything?

Um, probably not. But it sounds like a big pile o' fun.
(Sometime, ask me about the free 64 Corvair, the 425-horse 427, and the fifth of Jim Beam. That was a recipe for wackiness. )

Vintage Mercedes sells for 4 million pounds

A Mercedes Benz which for years was kept in a farm building has become the second most expensive car in the world after it sold for 4.1 million pounds.
The two-seater sports car, made in 1929, was sold to an anonymous buyer at an auction at Goodwood on Friday.

It belongs to a Professor I know at the school where I work and he is the original owner. He brought it to work the other day just to show it to someone but usually just takes it to car shows. </font c>
