McCarney's slap at George Bush
I was a little perturbed by Paul McCartney making the statement to Obozo that
"..after the last 8 years, it's good to have someone in the White House who knows what a library is.."
GW is actually very well read.
Paul just went down the toilet!
Scumbag British pup!
I used to 'hope' McCartney was an ok guy, but he's proved himself to be a shallow and stupid person.
I never liked his music much after the Beatles broke up anyway, but I'll never enjoy their music again.

I was not amused by PM's attempt at humor. Paul should have stuck with what he does best, go-cart racing and painting.

McCartney is way out there in liberal land and if Lennon was alive what would you imagine (get the joke) he would have said about GWB. What a political nutcase he was – give peace a chance, yeah right…
I love the music – always have, always will…

What a sad way for a musical legend to end his career... suddenly I don't feel all that bad about what Heather Mills did to him

...Mrs. Lightnin' just scored (at a premium) tix for McCartney in Nashvegas.
Goin', and I'm gonna dig it.
But-guys; he's just like every other elite, clueless and hopelessly enamored of liberal politics and totally at odds with everything we stand for, both in America and certainly those of us on the right.
He's never had to borrow money for a home, car, or home appliance.
He's never needed to ask for anything.
He's had his *** kissed since he was in his early 20's.
I love his music, but-like most of the baby-boomer music legends, he's still
"stuck in the 60's"...

That's too bad that you lose your interest in a band just because he threw some words at George Bush. Although I am registered Republican, George Bush is probably one of my least favorite people. He frightened me when I was a kid.

No wonder Bush is one of your least favorite people, you were not around for "Tricky Dick", "Lackluster Carter", and "Slick Willy".

In all honesty..
I did not lose my interest in McCartney's music because of this .. I liked the love songs, and some of them, like The Long and Winding Road are haunting, I still dig that, but that wasn't just McCartney .. I don't think McCartney is relevant anymore, and the only song he did that I liked, after the breakup was Band on the Run ... that was 'motivated' .. :?)
Don't know if you know, but the story I heard was that Yoko hated Paul and when he and his wife stayed in Yoko's favorite hotel in Tokyo on their tour, Yoko ratted them out and got them busted for possession of pot ... and when they got out on bail they fled ... thus "Band on the Run" ..
I am a guitar player, I love music, but I'm more into jazz now (although I find myself moving back toward blue and gritty again), I just don't find Paul has 'grown' as a musician, thus I've lost interest in his music. The thing that disturbs me is his lack of depth as a person .. remember Yellow Submarine and the Blue Meanies .. all the slapstick Monty Python and Benny Hill stuff ... great stuff, you'd think McCartney would have grown up, but I guess it's like Lightnin' said ... he's out of touch with reality.
Personally, I've never seen him in person, and if it means buying a ticket, I never will.

You didn't do anything offensive..
John Lennon went over to the dark side .. heroin .. I guess Yoko was a big player, and that's probably why Paul and John had a big falling out.. rumor was that Paul didn't like Yoko and when John wanted to include her in the group things started falling apart.. it's hard to find much to admire about a heroin addict.
Another reason why I didn't like the Stones, same thing .. heroin, amoral behavior, not contributing anything worthwhile to life, just a waste of lives.
