is relying on Russia to send our Astronauts to space really such a good idea?

As we all know President Obama felt like it was a good idea to cut funding for the United States Space Program in favor of supporting ridiculous spending programs that accomplish nothing for this great country. Obama has made it so that Nasa has no replacement for the current Space shuttle which is. On its way out. The proposed solution to getting astronauts and equipment to the space station is in the hands of the Russians.

Well this was never really the best idea in the first place and an occurrence yesterday proved that this plan is a very, very bad idea. Yesterday a Russian cargo ship spun out of control while attempting to dock to the space station. This begs the question if we should really entrust the Russians with the safety, transportation, and protection of American astronauts.

Other than the problem of safety with regard to the Russian space program, there are also questions of shaky foreign relations with Russia that could potentially lead to sabotage, capture, or other threats to our astronauts for leverage. Just because the Soviet Union has changed names doesn't mean that they have now become a wonderful ally. In fact the news is full of the most recent hiccup in formal relationship with Russia and the United States. The spy ring which was captured in America also makes me question the intelligence of relying on Russia to send our Astronauts into space.

It reflects the sad truth about the Obama administration, that they simply do not care about the well being of this nation. Obama believes that his golf game and destroying capitalism in this country, and indeed throughout the world is the way to solve all of the world's problems. As we all know, however such techniques are counter to what the American dream, and is not change that we can believe in. Rather the only change that is worth believing in here is a change in the leadership of America. Obama and the congress have been running this country into ground with no care as to the consequences that such actions will have upon the country.

Just as all of the other plans that have been implemented by this administration are disasters, so too will be relying on Russian space crews to get our Astronauts into outterspace. God help this country, because its leadership currently seems to be doing everything in their power to bring the nation down! We can ill afford allowing the Russians having any source of power over us, but the Obama Administration is Hell bent on doing anything and everything in its power to weaken the nation's position in the world. We must take a strong stance against this administration, for they're taking a strong stance against this nation.

True, but it may have a side benefit. Realize that NASA is no longer a civilian run space agency. NASA has become a bloated bureaucrat laden political machine. NASA is more interested in supporting the Global Warming fraud of Al Gore and DemWits like Obowamama, Bite-Me, Rabid-Reid, and Princess Pelosi; than Space.

Perhaps, NASA being forced to rely on Russian Spacecrafts will embarrass NASA into getting its act together. Frankly, our Space program might be better off in the long run if NASA was given the Axe and a new agency created. An agency where current NASA employees had to be re-interviewed and rehired; forcing them to compete with others from the private business sector.

Obama’s New NASA Policy: Yet More Broken Promises and Lies

Here is another re-post from A Conservative Teacher. I have to admit that I’m terribly biased regarding Space Exploration. It’s American exceptionalism at it’s finest, and yields scientific and free market gains beyond what you might be aware.
Out of all of the broken promises of President Obama, this one is probably not the biggest to a lot of people. Out of all of the phony and lying rhetoric about hope and change, this latest policy announcement that kills hope and changes things for the worst is probably not the most backstabbing that he has uttered. But that does not mean that Obama’s plans to destroy NASA’s budget and redirect its mission away from exploration is not big or important to me.
Probably a lot of you didn’t read this story, but it is the kind of backstabbing that is becoming familiar to those who follow Obama’s policy actions. Obama is going to release a budget proposal Monday for NASA that will cancel the Constellation program that was supposed to return humans to the moon by 2020, cancel the Ares I rocket that was to replace the space shuttle to ferry humans to space will be gone, cancel the Ares V cargo rocket that was to launch the fuel and supplies needed to take humans back to the moon, cancel any hope for lunar landers or moon bases, and cancel any near future for Americans to explore and conquer outer space.
Instead, Obama will have NASA focus on studies and reports and analysis for future plans- in other words, do nothing and change nothing about our world and our future in it. Furthermore, NASA will be instructed to change its mission away from exploration of outer space to research and monitoring of climate change. That’s right- Obama is turning NASA into yet another agency whose resources will be devoted to that failed religion of climate change.
These changes to policy are bad changes. NASA is not being instructed to do more with less, as Bush told NASA to do. NASA is being told to do nothing, or worse, spend its money and energy and expertise trying to reinforce failed theories. It isn’t getting leaner and meaner it its quest to take humanity to the stars, but instead is being beaten down and embarrassed in a quest to make humanity less prosperous and happy.
And these changes are not what Obama promised while on the campaign. On the campaign, he lied through his teeth, told people what they want to hear, and was deceitful about his future intentions. In August of last year, then-Senator Barack Obama detailed a comprehensive space plan that included $2 billion in new funding to reinvigorate NASA and a promise to make space exploration and science a significantly higher priority if he is elected president. Since then, he has made NASA a low priority, not even bothering to name a director for NASA for several months, and instead of increasing funding by $2 billion, NASA’s budget is going to be slashed.
This is why I call him the Bizzarro President- whatever he says, you can take to the bank that he is going to do the opposite of what he says. He is a serial liar, a deceitful snake, and an untrustworthy person. His word is meaningless, and his promises worth less.


Speaking to potential voters in Florida last year, who bought his lies and promises and voted for him, Obama said:

We cannot cede our leadership in space… (we need to keep) supporting continued funding for NASA; by speeding the development of the Shuttle’s successor; and by making sure that all those who work in the space industry in Florida do not lose their jobs when the Shuttle is retired.

Count the broken promises- I count 4 out of 4 statements. Once President, he is going to cede leadership in space, turning us away from exploration and development of the moon to work on reports, studies, and global warming. He is going to do the opposite of ‘speed the development of the Shuttle successor’- instead, he is going to totally stop all development on it. And he isn’t going to make sure that those good union folks who supported him so much have a job any more- by slashing funding and cancelling the building of new shuttles and rockets, it is projected that as many as 7,000 highly trained workers will lose their jobs after Obama’s policies take effect.
For Obama, the rhetoric never matches the reality, and it doesn’t with space policy either. In order to convince people that he was a real fan of space exploration and had a vision to take American forward in outer space, Obama said“I grew up on Star Trek!” I don’t doubt that, but I think that what he learned from Star Trek was not a love of exploration, a sense of adventure, or the desire to conquer the stars, but rather I think he learned to love the communist-military government in that show. Obama does not want to take man boldly where he has never been before- he instead wants to make NASA into a government-run institution to prove global warming in order to realize the visions and dreams of Karl Marx and Mussolini.
President Obama has broke many promises, lied through his teeth often, and backstabbed supporters without the slightest hesitation. His latest policy decisions with regard to NASA are just another example of this.

Obviously Mr. Obama was full of it when he said "$2 billion in new funding to reinvigorate NASA". Since a single space shuttle launch costs approximately half Billion dollars and building the last space shuttle cost $1.7 Billion 17 years ago. There is $2.15 Billion right there. However, designing, engineering, testing sub-systems, building, testing a full system, and launching the replacement shuttle was going to take a he!! of a lot more than $2 billion.
Obama is, as Obama does.

You bring up a subject that I keep wondering about, which is:

Will all those black Americans who claimed an 8/16th Caucasian, 7/16th Arab, & 1/16th African as their own; still be so ready and proud to pro-claim Mr. Obama one of their own?

Krauthammer Rips NASA Chief for Declaration to Improve Relations with Muslim World

"When I became the NASA administrator -- or before I became the NASA administrator - [Obama] charged me with three things," Bolden said. "One was he wanted me to help re-inspire children to want to get into science and math, he wanted me to expand our international relationships, and third, and perhaps foremost, he wanted me to find a way to reach out to the Muslim world and engage much more with dominantly Muslim nations to help them feel good about their historic contribution to science ... and math and engineering."

NASA's priority is about ensuring America is at the forefront of Space technology, not playing Global Warming politics or promoting Islam by making the so called "Religion of Peacers" feel good.
Sounds like sedition by Obama, another Impeachable act.

Recently, Bolden, in an interview with Al Jazeera English, said that the "foremost" mission of NASA is to improve relations with the Muslim world. This drew the ire of Krauthammer on the July 5 broadcast of Fox News Channel's "Special Report with Bret Baier." (h/t Gateway Pundit) "This is a new height in fatuousness," Krauthammer said. "NASA was established to get America into space and to keep is there. This idea to feel good about their past and to make achievements is the worst combination of group therapy, psychobabble, imperial condescension and adolescent diplomacy."

"If I didn't know that Obama had told this, I'd demand the firing of Charles Bolden the way I would Michael Steele," he continued. "This is absolutely unbelievable."

Krauthammer should have gone on to demand the firing of Mr. ObamaTraitor.

It truly is disturbing that Obama would do something as stupid as this .. since when does the POTUS redirect the mission, institutions and assets of the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, paid for by the people of the USA, and founded on the blood, sweat and tears, the very lives of American astronauts, to a socialistic cause in another nation - without even bothering to clear that with the people?

Charles Krauthammer is right, this is "the worst combination of group therapy, psychobabble, imperial condescension and adolescent diplomacy - ever."

More than that, it is outrageous that Obama thinks he has the right to exercise the power of the presidency to do whatever he 'wants' (Congress will not oppose him) and that the entire nation, and all of America's resources, is at his beck and call.

He's no more than a hired hand, stealing, extorting, destroying the farm, and raiding the children's piggy bank.

Obama is "THE MAN WHO WOULD BE KING" - remember what happened to this character by Rudyard Kipling?

The natives were awed by him, but his vanity cost him his life, they killed that man.

Ladies and gentlemen we need to get our pitchforks, our axes, and our lanterns and we need to go after Obama and his cronies in Congress. We need an old fashioned barn burning.

Obama's insane tyranny must be stopped. Everyone should be screaming outrage about this.
