The letters from Ronald Reagan I shall never forget
Back in 1989 I had purchased a farm property back in Northwest Florida. But before I knew it I was having to deal with Federal Environmental Regulations put into place by the Jimmy Carter Administration from 1977, which under the Food Security Act allowed the U.S Fish and Wildlife Service to place Federal Conservation Easements under FHA Farm properties.
The entire regulation has turned out to be a disaster. In 1991 I decided to fight the regulation and fought with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife for five years
before they came around to making some changes, but in truth it has never
really been corrected. The right to own Private Property in this Country has
been usurped under these ridiculous regulations.
Starting in 1992 I started getting these letters from Bellaire, California and
I coulld never figure out who this person was until about four years later.
He never signed the letters but they were always words of encouragement
and it really picked me up after all the nonsense I was going thru with the
U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
They just words of encouragement and now I wish I had kept them because
I got about 10 of them over a four year period until I was finally told they
had come from former President Reagan and this is a true story.
Lets forget the fact that he was probably one of the Greatest Presidents
we have ever had in this country. I think it is more than fair to say that
he was just a very thougtful and very heartfelt guy and more like a Paternity
figure in many respects. He believed in the Independence of this country
and he believed in the Independence of mankind to be able to do what the
Individual thought was right and not what some bureacrat in Washington D.C,
thought is right for the Individual. In that respect he was much like Thomas Jefferson except he put his principals to make this country the great country
that it is and could be.
I am sure if they go back thru some of the letters that Reagan had sent
in the Reagan library they will come across some of this correspondence.
I just think we never really got to see the real Ronald Reagan as a private
individual. I think he was the genuine article in every respect and for that
our nation is truly better off for having had him in the service of this country.
Just a genuine great American...
