Well, I don't know about your 50 million number.... However, during our last administration, there was a feeble attempt by a completely inept person (our First Lady ) to fix the healthcare problem in America. It failed miserably.
Bill Frist and many other lawmakers are working to fix the situation. It just waits to be seen whether the Democrats and Republicans can come to an agreement about what should be done.
By the way, our military was vastly UNDERfunded during the last administration as well - that, of course, has changed for the better with our new President and his cabinet . We believe in taking care of ourselves instead of counting on other countries to protect us and thus the large military budget. It needs to be quite large because we also watch the backs of other people around the world that are not capable of doing so for themselves. When our allies call for help, we're ready. You can look for the healthcare situation in the US to improve under this administration as well. I know the Canadian healthcare system is crumbling beneath all of you. How is your government proposing to deal with that?

Since you are obviously an intellectual, can you please enlighten me on what percent of our GDP does the large military budget consist of?
If you are going to make straw man arguments, I fully expect you to have the ability to also provide shelter from the flame of truth.
Awaiting your reply.

Well the good thing about the American health system is that regardless of whether you've got health insurance or not, they will still treat emergencies...
I know this because on 4th July 1993, I had a terrible accident, I was cycling to a night club (alternative night) when I was hit by a hit and run driver...
I had no insurance, I was in the country and working illegally (the conservatives here will love that ) but I received the best of care, I was actually declared "clinically dead", but I awoke out of the coma a month later...
At that time I was glad that I was in the US, I don't believe that I'd have survived if it had happened in Britain...
I still send a Christmas Card to my physical therapist every year...
I had the best of care but I was skint...
So I have much to thank America for...

LOL, we can thank our wonderful Hillary for trying to redesign our system modeled after Canada and UK with Mafia-like secrecy.
Yes, the U.S. healthcare system has plenty of flaws but if you're going to put US under a microscope, let's try Canada as well.
Waiting lists for surgery in some Canadian hospitals can stretch from months to as long as five years. The situation is so bad that in Ontario, cancer patients may be asked by their hospital to sign a waiver acknowledging the danger of being forced to wait for treatment.
And it doesn't end there. Once in the hands of the doctors, you're likely to get tossed on a gurney, pushed against the wall of a hospital corridor, and left there to heal -- or not.
Hmmmm, could this be why Canadians blast US healthcare but in the same breath they're asking for, and purchasing, bus tickets south to United States for therapy?

Sorry, totally untrue.
Oops...I see Diane has posted a link to educate you. Try reading it.
51% My first impression of you was right - you are a wanna-be comedian! Try to get your facts straight - we have very little tolerance for purposeful ignorance around here.

Look and this is why I am quite careful in replying to your posts, King Cantona, I don't want to search 5 hours on google to find any statistics that might be similar to the one of which you say that they exist.
That would be your job, don't you think?
So I would really apreciate that you post a source of your information at the end of the post you make. It would make it easier for people to reply.
See in contrast to you, I don't think I know everything about the States and especially I doubt I know much about what's going on in the inside of the country. That's why I can't react on your posts the way I could if I would be able to read something to educate myself a little
Anyway..that's all I am going to say to this.
