Does anyone think that Michael Reagan will speak at the Republican National Convention this year? Or Mrs. Reagan?

I Want Micheal Reagan to speak, not just because his poor excuse of a brother is speaking at the dnc but because he is a great man!
Micheal Reagan did not miss out on anything by not being with his biological parents,,,IT WAS THOSE PARENTS WHO MISSED OUT ON A GREAT SON.

Ron Reagan is a sorry excuse for a television personality.

He was a failure in ballet, and he is a failure as a TV host (I think he does dog shows--those poor doggies!).

If the Democrats want him, by all means he should go and speak.

I have spoken to no one, Democrat or Republican, that has a favorable opinion about Ron Reagan.

Buckley Slaps Down Junior Reagan

In his column today, Robert Novak salutes the only man who could put Bush-bashing Ron Reagan in his place.

"Nobody knew how to respond in a time of national mourning. Nobody, that is, except William F. Buckley Jr.," Novak writes.

Among the shots junior Reagan fired at the president: that his father never wore "his faith on his sleeve," that his "father did not know George W. Bush from Adam," that his "father was a man - that's the difference between him and Bush." And: "This is their war. If they can't stand on their own two feet, they're no Ronald Reagans."

Among the responses in a letter Buckley sent to the late president's son, according to Novak:

The younger Reagan claimed "in an interview with the New York Times that he, as a self-professed atheist, admired the Buddhist teachings of 'mindfulness and loving kindness and compassion.' Buckley told him: 'You proceed in a single interview to profane/deride the faith of your parents, which is not very mindful.'"

The boast that he did not vote for Bush: "Odd that you should permit this invasion of privacy whose only purpose is to remark the political infidelity of the son of Ronald Reagan."

To Junior's claim that his father "worked hard to impress upon his children the value of kindness," Buckley noted, "If he did, he was manifestly unsuccessful."
Well, at least the angry and hateful former ballet dancer will fit right in at the Democrat convention.

I've often worried that conservative parents often must deal with a possible reality that thier children must become liberal out of a need to be different then thier parents.

I'm not sure if this is the case with Reagan's children but I have always wondered how his own children turned out so different then himself.

It would be WONDERFUL if Michael would speak at the Republican Convention!

I hope that they will ask him, and that he will accept. It would be lovely, especially if they did it as part of a tribute to his dad.
