I feel that the Social Security reform Bush is passing is brilliant.
On the other hand I don't like the immigration laxity in this country.
Seems immigration is a thorn in both parties side.
Bush wants to secure the country and conservatives agree with him. But letting immigrants come here seems contrary to this goal.
There are alot of ways to see this issue. There are also alot of ways to try and solve the issue. Often the debates about it are based on many different premises teh like which makes for no constructive progress towards a solution.
Some believe that we should be more strict in the immigration laws and secure the borders better.
Some believe that we need these workers to run our companies. Others believe they are taking available jobs.
Some think that regardless of how you look at it they (illegal immigrants) will get here anyways so to address the problem with them getting here no matter what as a starting point and going from there.
Some believe that if we harshly punished businesses for hiring immigrants then it would solve itself since if there is no work here for them to get as illegals they would have to come legally and pay taxes. A "If you don't make it they won't come" approach if you will.
