Here is a song that best describes the losses we as a the loved ones of an Alzheimer's victime feel. It tears at your soul & you look at that person, for me my father, & miss the things you used to take for granted. Such as watching the news & having a fun time discussing what we saw. this doesnt happen when someone is deep in the Alzheimer's clutches. Dad couldnt have a discussion because he couldn't rememember what he had just seen.

to hear the song go there.

Here are the words:
She Misses Him
Tim Rushlow

She shaves his face
She combs his hair
She helps him find his rocking chair
She cooks his meals
She wipes his mouth
And the window that he's looking out
She reads him books
She speaks his name
Oh every day is much the same
She sighs that sigh from deep within
The one that says
She misses him

She misses his gentle touch
And the way he used to make her laugh
She misses the man he was
In all of those old photographs
So strong, so kind, so sweet, so smart
The man who stole her very heart
She misses him

His children come on Saturday
Their at his feet
His grandkids play
It's sad they don't know him at all
He's just the one they call grandpa
They take out his trash
They mow his lawn
Things he can't do since he's been gone
She's grateful that they're pitching in
And like everyone
She misses him

She misses his gentle touch
And the way he used to make her laugh
She misses the man he was
In all of those old photographs
So strong, so kind, so sweet, so smart
The man who stole her very heart
She misses him

And yes they're still together
After all these years
But sometimes you can almost feel
The sadness in her tears

She misses his gentle touch
And the way he used to make her laugh
She misses the man he was
In all of those old photographs
So strong, so kind, so sweet, so smart
The man who stole her very heart
She misses him

I cried a lot when i first read this. But it's good to let the pain out sometimes.

I heard this song on the radio yesterday, for the first time, and they had taken pieces of speeches by Ronald and Nancy (and I think even a bit by Patti) and interspersed them throughout the song. It was extremely touching and I cried along as I drove down the road listening.

Oh my goodness, what a beautifully touching song. It was as if that song was written specifically for Mrs. Reagan. Thank you for sharing this with us.

That is a very touching song. Like someone posted before, it sounded like it was written for Nancy Reagan. There was another song played during the week of mourning. I don't remember the artist's name (I'm pretty sure it was a woman), but it was called something like "In This Room" or "In My Room". It also fit the sad story of the Reagans as well.
