Well, change of plans . I doubt that I will meet Mrs. Reagan on this trip . BUT, I'm meeting Mike
When I was first researching President Reagan, the books I read first were those his family had written . When I came to Mike's "On The Outsude Looking In" and found that he had been abused as a child, I cried . For I too had been abused as a child .
The types of abuse we endoured differ . He was sexually abused at the age of eight by a camp counsouler , I was physcally abused by a dentist and confind to a wheelchair .
Last year, I found out that he had a radio show and called to share my own story and thank him for sharing his with the world. We've kept in touch . Yesterday , I e-mailed him to ask if He'd meet me while I was in town and he said " Yes" and invited me to his studio to watch him do his show
I'm exicted!

That's wonderful! I am so happy for you!
I've read both On the Outside Looking In and Twice Adopted. I admire Michael immensely.
I will very much look forward to reading your account of your meeting with him!

I remember meeting my hero, Albert Reynolds, at a conference this year it was a great experience. I came to it just to see him. I remember I left to go for a tea when I came back there he was at the back of the hall I was flabbergasted. I stood there for a while till I managed to go over to him. I tried to speak but it came out all wrong, as in I forgot my name, although he kept smiling as I was blabbering. Then I asked him to sign something, he joked that he’d sign anything but a blank cheque. We then had a few words about my time in the national service which he was widely supportive of. It was a great experience and I hope that you enjoy yours too Jamie.

I haven't met my hero face to face, but I have felt His guiding hand in my life a lot.
Like I always say, every day I wake up is a great day, the day I don't it will be a glorious day and I will finally meet Him face to face!
