RONALD W. REAGAN

Was my friend and friend to our world
In the truest sense of this poem

“FRIENDS”

By: James A. Brandes

Originally written for: Larry & Lynn Byers

Copyright 1967 – 2004

They’re close, but not thick
Because thick is just what it implies…
Dense and unable
To understand or accept

For they have a common bond……., LOVE
Even if they have nothing in common
Or find they’re different, they still LOVE
So they have a common bond

They speak the truth but it doesn’t hurt
For they’re not aiming to hurt……., but to help
Their help has proven their LOVE
And their LOVE, has proven they’re FRIENDS

They walk with you down the path of life
But they do not carry you
For that would make you a cripple
And you do not cripple your friends

They pray for God’s will for your life
And not theirs
For they aren’t God and know not what HIS will for you would be
But realize that need

They have faith in you because they have faith in GOD
They believe in your abilities, even if you do not sing the same song
Or do not choose to look as they, they do not say…..,
They simply pray, “Thy Will Be Done”

In life, the greatest person you’ll ever know
Is the one who can truly help you grow
When he doesn’t know the plant you are. If you’ll reach the moon or reach the star
But loves you just for what you are

And lets you live, so you are free
To be the person he prayed you’d be
Completely God’s, and knows that HE
Can only know what’s right for thee

He is simply glad to be…………

“YOUR FRIEND”
