President Reagan loved his Rangers and we loved him. I was a 20 year old Corporal in 1BN, 75th Rangers when we jumped into Port Salinas on 25 Oct 1983.
One thing we never worried about was the resolve & gratitude our Commander-in-Chief had for each of us and every one who served, regardless of branch of service. To him, it only mattered that you were willing to be there and to make a sacrifice.
Just before we were deployed to participate in Urgent Fury, we lost too many fellow brothers-in-arms when the Marines were bombed in Lebanon. It pissed us off & when we received orders to deploy our resolve was made of steel. Just a bunch of young Americans that had a great leader...it makes all the difference.
I'm now 41 and have several family members serving under another great leader who is weathering some pretty tough storms. I'm sure President Bush is thankful for the lessons learned & groundwork laid by President Reagan.
I'm not sure that I've done as much as I should in my life, but I will always be grateful to have had the privilege to serve my country under a great leader and with men that know what a honor it is bear the Ranger tab for their country.
Thank you President Reagan. Hoohah!
Rest in Peace, Sir.

I have to say that upon learning of this "Great American", I was very sad...to the point of a few tears. In my life-time, there has been no one that changed this great country the way that President Reagan did. I so long for the days of the eighties. America was in its rebirth with Pres. Reagan at the helm. I served in the military during his presidency and did so with pride. Washington, Lincoln, Eisenhower, Reagan... so far four that really went above and beyond duty and set this country ablaze with pride, freedom and prosperity. My thoughts and prayers to the Reagan family.

Reagan was the first president I voted for. I know he lived a long life and was suffering horribly, and still I am very sad. It's like losing my grandfather.
How fortunate we were to have lived in this man's lifetime.

To the Reagan Family: Your loss is shared by all who lived in President Reagan's terms. He was one of the most respected Presidents in history, and his legacy can never be tarnished by any mortal man.
He is now walking and talking with his Lord and is free from all pain. Please remember him with joy, not sorrow, and continue his hopes and dreams for America. God bless you all.

Ronald Reagan was not only a great President, but a great man. His love and devotion for his country and family were amazing. May God bless the family in their time of mourning. May we all learn from Ronald and Nancy on how to be devoted couples. Goodbye, Ronald. America loves you. Brenda, from WV.

First my condolences to the entire Reagan family.
I was saddened to hear the news about President Reagan. I remember I was young when he was elected, but I remember very clearly the state of the country, not so much the economy but the feeling. Everybody was always down and depressed, but he came along with his optimism and conviction that America and Americans could do anything if they just put their minds to it. He was right. God bless you Mr. President, your family and God bless America.
Thank You Sir
Michael Y.

President Ronald Reagan displayed the spirit and courage of a true leader. His convictions and determination were so strong that he inspired many Americans to join the military at a time when motivation was so needed.
The first time I ever voted was in 1980 and I realized then, that Ronald Reagan inspired confidence and motivation that hadn't been evident in a long time. I joined the military in 1982 and to me Ronald Reagan set the example as a dynamic and caring leader. He instilled a pride and dignity to the military that had been lacking. I can tell you that his positive attitude generated enthusiasm at all levels within the military and made everyone proud to serve. He will be forever remembered as a leader who lead with intensity, force, energy, and compassion. My prayers are with you Mr. President and your family.
